Overview- Special Christmas Night Service 2014. Luke 2:1-20. Christmas is such a special time for me and my family. I love this time of the year because it reminds me of the great sacrifice that God gave to send His only begotten Son to this earth to be born a baby. The King of all creation stepped into our world as a child to redeem mankind from the penalty of sin. That is incredible. And that’s why we celebrate here at GSC the way we do. Overview- Jesus Proclaims Himself Messiah. Matthew 21:12-17. In our sermon today we read about how Jesus goes into the Temple of God, after His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, and turns over the tables of the money changers and those who bought and sold there. Jesus had just powerfully proclaimed Himself Messiah/ God in the flesh by riding into Jerusalem on the back of a colt, the foal of a donkey fulfilling the Zachariah 9:9 prophesy, and now He walks into God’s temple and boldly proclaims Himself Messiah again. How did He proclaim Himself Messiah/ God in the flesh, in the temple of God? Did Jesus Christ ever proclaim Himself Messiah/ God in the flesh anywhere else in scripture? Overview: Hosanna To The Son Of David. Matthew 21:1-11 In our message today we talked about Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem on a young colt, and how it was a prophesy that the real Jewish Messiah had to fulfill in order be the true one. WJesus makes a very bold statement by having His disciples bring Him this colt just so He could ride into Jerusalem on it, because by doing this, He proclaimed Himself the Jewish Messiah and King. If Jesus was not the Messiah, this would have been blasphemy, so is Jesus really the real Jewish Messiah? Come and take a listen to the sermon, and decide for yourself. Overview - Their Cry For Help, Made Him Stand Still. Matthew 20:29-34. In our sermon today we read of an account where two blind beggars hear of Christ passing by them, and they cry out to Jesus, and their cry causes Him to stand still. And not only did He stand still, He helped them in their time of need. Why did their cry cause Jesus to stand still and help them? If I cry out to Jesus today, will He still stand still for me and help me in my time of need? I cover these questions and more in my message today. Overview - It Shall Not Be So Among You. Matthew 20:20-28. In our message today we look at the lust for power and authority of the two disciples James and John, as they bring their mother to ask something of Jesus. These two disciples wanted to sit in premier spots in Jesus’ Kingdom, hence wanting to have authority over the other disciples and everyone else in His Kingdom as well. Overview- The Important Message Of Christ. Matthew, chapter 20:17-19. In our message today take a look at the important message Jesus gave to His 12. In Matthew 20 verses 17-19 Jesus tells His disciples that they are headed for Jerusalem, and while there, He is going to be betrayed, killed, and resurrected from the dead. How do we know that this message was so important to Him? Just one way we look at today; this is the now the third time He talks to His disciples about it. In this sermon, I talk about this aspect and much more. This message that Jesus gives to His disciples in this section of scripture, is the most important message Jesus gave to mankind period. Overview - The Last Will Be First, And The First Last. Matthew 20:1-16. In our message today I take a large passage of scripture in Matthew chapter 20 where Jesus gives us a Kingdom of Heaven parable but doesn’t give us the interpretation. Whenever you have a parable without an interpretation, it can be easy to just come up with just any interpretation. That is dangerous, and not what God wants. Many deadly doctrines have been born this way. So I don’t just come up with any interpretation, I take this parable and go to other teachings of Christ, and interpret it that way. Overview - It Is Easier For A Camel To Go Through The Eye Of A Needle Than For A Rich Man To Enter The Kingdom Of God. Matthew 19:23-30. In our message today we cover a variety of different topics. We read Jesus tell His disciples that it is pretty much impossible for a wealthy/rich man to get into Heaven. We read how the disciples react to Jesus’ statement which shows us that Jesus was being literal in what He said. But when the disciples say to Jesus, “who then can be saved”, Jesus turns His teaching to focus on salvation for all mankind, and says, “With man this (salvation) is impossible, but with God all things are possible”. So with humankind salvation is impossible, salvation comes from God. Does this mean that we have no part in salvation? Does God just elect those whom He elects and the rest are left behind? Overview - What Good Thing Shall I Do That I May Have Eternal Life? Matthew 19:16-22. In our message this week we study the question given to Jesus by a rich young ruler “What Good Thing Shall I Do That I May Have Eternal Life”. Jesus answers him with a couple of different answers, and those answers seem to contradict one another. But do they really? The young rich ruler is not satisfied with either, and walks away sorrowful. But why? In our world today, a large majority of people believe, and the majority of the religions teach, that good works, or doing good things get people to Heaven. Overview - The Loving, Warm, And Welcoming Aura Of Christ. Matthew 19:13-15. In our message today we look at the amazing way Jesus Christ lovingly and warmly welcomed those who came to Him with little children, even though people were always coming to Him and requesting things of Him. Overview - Are You An Eunuch For The Kingdom Of Heaven (In Spirit)? Matthew 19:11-12. In our message today we studied Jesus’ words about how God gives a charge to some to be Eunuch’s for His Kingdom. This is a person who has made a decision to set aside marriage and live a celibate lifestyle for the sake of the Kingdom of God, and put the things of God first in His or Her life. Now Jesus says that God has only given this charge of being an Eunuch, in the sense of setting aside marriage and living a celibate lifestyle for the sake of the Kingdom of God, to some. But did you know that if you are a Christian, God has called you to be an Eunuch for the Kingdom of God (in spirit)? What does this mean, you ask? Come, take a listen and find out. Overview - Satan's Agenda Against Christians. In our message today we step outside of our normal box. Normally I teach verse by verse, but today the Lord has a special message for us on marriage, and the war satan has waged against Christians. The devil has waged war against Christians and their marriages and families in our world, and this message exposes his evil tactics and will give you some ways in which to fight back. Overview - Is It Legal For A Man To Divorce His Wife For Just Any Reason, In God’s Eyes. Matthew 19:1-10. In our message today I teach on the very difficult topic that Jesus taught on, about whether or not divorce is lawful or legal in God’s eyes. So I discuss this question brought to Christ by the Pharisees and Jesus’ answer to their question. Divorce is an epidemic in America, with the divorce rate on first marriages 41-50%, second marriages 60-67%, and third marriages 73-74%. God hates divorce, Malachi 2:16 God Bless you Pastor Ed

Overview - God Is Serious About Forgiveness. Matthew 18:21-35. In our message today, we read that Peter comes to Jesus upon the topic of how many times he should have to forgive a brother who sins against him. Peter thinks it generous to offer an amount of 7 times that he would forgive a brother who sins against him, while Jesus tells him that the amount of times he should forgive that brother should be four hundred and ninety times. Now while this must have been a shock to Peter to hear, Jesus proceeds to give His disciples a powerful parable of just how important forgiving another Christian really is if they have sinned against you. Overview - Steps To Handling A Sinning Brother. Matthew chapter 18:15-20. Unfortunately Christians aren’t perfect people, and we don’t always handle situations in a perfect way with other Christians. Sometimes we may sin against other Christians, or offend them, and maybe we didn’t even mean to do it. Well in our sermon today, Jesus gives us the practical and powerful steps to take when dealing with a brother or sister in the faith that has offended you or sinned against you. If you have ever had another brother or sister sin against you, and you struggled with how to deal with it, or are dealing with a brother or sister that has just recently offended you, then God wants to talk to you today. Come and listen to how Jesus wants you to handle your bad situation. Jesus is an amazing teacher, and He loves us so very much. Overview - Oh, How Precious Israel Is In God's Sight. Matthew chapter 18 verses 10-14. In our message today we looked at the context of this section of scripture in Matthew 18, and found out that it is indeed Israel that Jesus is referring to. Getting the correct context of any scripture is very important, because otherwise you can end up in spiritual error. Next we studied the heart of the text. Oh, how precious Israel is in God’s sight. Israel was a very spiritually lost nation in God’s eyes when Christ came to earth, yet in spite of their rebellion towards God, Jesus tells us here that, He came to seek and save that which was lost. Overview - Jesus Warns Of Offenses. Matthew chapter 18 verses 6-9. Offenses will come, but Jesus says “Woe to those by whom they come”. Jesus teaches us a couple of very important ideas about offenses and sin in this section of scripture. A few weeks ago, in my sermon, His Character Is Love, Jesus gave an example of how Christians are not supposed to live offensively towards those of the world so they would see Christ living in us for the purpose of salvation, and today He teaches Christians about what happens to those who try to cause His children sin. If they do, it would be better for them if a millstone were tied around their necks and them thrown into the depths of the sea. Overview - The Requirements For Us To Enter Heaven. Matthew chapter 18 verses 1-4. The disciple of Jesus come to Him and inquire of Him who will be the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. They of course are only concerned with their status and position in Heaven. So instead of answering their inquiry, He goes over the requirements of even getting to Heaven in the first place. The disciples were under the impression that Heaven was just a guarantee for them. But not so. There are requirements to enter Heaven. What are they?
