The miracle of Christ turning water to wine, at first, looks very straightforward in it's story. This first miracle of Christ has a great deal more to teach us than what we see on the surface. This miracle has ties to the Old Testament in more than one place. So much so that the meaning it conveyed would have been easily understood and recognized by the Jews of that day (Mary got the message). Not only do we need to understand what that message was, we also need to understand what it says to all of God's people both then and now. One of the questions answered here is; how should we approach God when we want "more wine"?

Patrick Henry, as a lawyer, delivered a speech that later he would be ashamed of. He upbraided a good man, he later repented of this deed. Patrick Henry was humbled over the next ten years and came out a changed man who would one day rise up and call our nation to stand. Leviticus 25:10 is inscribed on our liberty bell. A fact that today is largely ignored by the secular and not well understood by the church. Come hear how God walks among His people today. There are two kinds of Christianity and they are both good. Samson, a Nazarite, is an example of God sanctifying a man for His purposes. Paul and Jesus himself may be added to this list. The other is the common man, loving his Lord and his family, raising a family in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Jesse was a covenant keeper, raising his son David to be set apart, he saw changes that were coming upon Israel and prepared for it. The Church and Christianity's greatest enemy is Egalitarianism. Egalitarianism is just the opposite of how God works. Egalitarianism would have anyone be Samson or David or Paul. Egalitarianism does not recognize the wisdom of the hoary head. Egalitarianism works against the Word of God. Leviticus 19:32 shows us a theme God repeats throughout scripture "Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD." We are caught up in a cosmic argument. Everyone is, whether they know it or not. Job's wife did not understand she was part of a cosmic argument, she was caught in the crossfire, it broke her. Come hear the reason why Job became the center of a cosmic argument as did Moses, Noah, King Uzziah and others. When the first atomic bomb was set off it had so much force that it broke windows in homes 100 miles away. The blast could be seen from 400 miles away. To cover it up the people were misdirected, being told that an aluminum factory exploded. The people believed it. Further bombs were tested and cover up lies told and believed. Today there are great evils in the world. If the depth of these evils were to be revealed to our nation it would undo it. But as it was during the bomb tests even today our attentions are misdirected. Listen and learn how Christ dealt with the deep evils in His time and how that evil reared up and murdered Him on a cross. Come and hear of the depth of evils aimed at today's Church. How today we are misdirected from understanding the depth of the Christ's death on the cross and the application to our lives so necessary to expose evil. We can know, no boy has gone to heaven sat on Jesus knee and come back to tell of it. It was unlawful even for Paul to describe what he heard in heaven. Why? Come hear why Jesus would not tell Nicodemus of heavenly things (John 3:12). Well done thy good and faithful servant. When asked what have we done, how will we answer? Easter's Abiding Lesson... "What the Law Could Not Do"

"Pala" one of the most important words in scripture, a word that is comprehensive though it is deceptively hidden from view. A word that not only leaves Paul speechless but can be found in effect throughout the birth of our country. Come listen as we learn why it is important to not misunderstand this word "Pala". We need to follow the example of the Psalmist as he prays, "Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. Both Witherspoon and George Washington saw "Pala" and gave praise. Pharaoh rationalized "Pala" yet gave up.

"Existentialism" used by the "philosopher" to poison society, to move men away from God. They wrap this poison in a multitude of different and tempting packages. They preach self expression and experience over thinking, action over contemplating the revealed facts relating to God in His Word. They preach "no God no law", man has the freedom to do whatever he wants whenever he wants it. The "God is dead" movement in the 60's was just a taste of this poison. The poison of these pied pipers may be easily discerned when the light of the Word of God shows forth. Come hear how Psalm 119 teaches us to meditate and focus properly, how to walk safely in today's world and recognize the subtle attacks and snares of those who hate God and his Word, those pied pipers of poison. Hear of the sweetness and unity created among men everywhere who incline themselves to live in the freedom of the law of God. Psalm 119:45 "and I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts."

Stories get our attention: The YouTube video "United Breaks Guitars" by Dave Carroll, is a real-life story of how his guitar was broken during a trip on United Airlines in 2008. United Airlines after repeated requests for help, did nothing for Mr. Carroll until in July of 2009 he posted the video "United Breaks Guitars" at this time "United Breaks Guitars" has had over 13 million views and has been discussed in media world wide. One man's voice moved United Airlines from a position of complete indifference to contacting Mr. Carroll. How much more could a man do in the service of his Lord, when empowered and gifted from on high by the Holy Spirit. Listen how one can move men's hearts through a story. Listen how God, using stories, exhibits His fingerprints in the lives of men. Yet even with all this evidence hear how and why we are tempted to doubt. John 20:29 Jesus said to him, Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Though the outward man be but flesh and blood God's presence in His work is something that the church must emphasize and God's people stand to say amen. We have lost the symbolism for the title of Covenant head. In our society today fatherhood, headship and manhood are most under attack. Manhood and headship take a beating even in the churches. Today if a woman stands up to defend the concept of headship they become vilified as if they committed some act of treason. Headship pictured in us is not for us to polish our own shiny badge. Headship, pictured in us, represents God himself and therefore it is attacked. The Lord's Day is a day set apart from all the rest of the days it is a day to sanctify your family in worship before God. It is a sanctification issue (Leviticus 19). Fathers and mothers are to sanctify their children, set them before the Lord. Envy is the disease of our society, of the west. It creates a fundamentally different kind of person. Envy is insidious, it’s motive is malice, the result is to destroy.

There has been a mark of the Sabbath keeping, the Lord’s Day Sabbath, in this country, extending back into the Common Law of England back down through the days of Alfred the Great (King of the West Saxons) that goes back to late 800’s. Alfred himself copied the Sabbath Law from earlier writs. The Lord’s Day Sabbath is a testimony that God will in fact bring rest, this gives us hope and hope indeed anchors the soul.

Envy causes us to take the means and the tricks necessary, what we deem to be necessary, to plunder our neighbor. “Mt 6:19-21 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” The Christian church needs to learn the lesson of putting Christ as its first treasure. Our hearts should be less confident in our own reasoning and more confident in God’s mercy as come before His throne.

Our approach unto God is not to be by what we think or feel we should do. How God wants us to approach Him is given in His Word.
