  • 380: Talking Stick- What It Really Means To Speak Someone's LINGO

    12/03/2018 Duración: 17min

By traditional definition, lingo means to speak the jargon of a group or individual. It's important as we continue to discuss lingo and the lessons taught in my book, LINGO, that you understand how I define it. I define lingo as understanding someone's essence. Ironically, to speak someone's lingo is more about the unspoken word. It's creating the energetic connection that you get each other and are speaking the same language. Yes, the words and jargon are important. But only after you "get" them. The Talking Stick is in your hands now. Let us hear from you. Be part of the conversation - We want to hear your opinion on the topic. Let us know what you think or share a personal story. • 379: Brian Boxer Wachler- The Power of Perception and a Success Mindset

    07/03/2018 Duración: 38min

Perception is everything in business. You want people to be able to look at you and your brand, and feel a connection. When a customer feels they know you, what you stand for, and even who you are on a personal level, they will want to be loyal to you. It’s often times scary for us to put ourselves out there. As business owners we want to hide behind our business name. In the end, if you put yourself out there and create a proper perception of yourself, you will attract your ideal customers. When they feel that relationship with you, even though they’ve never met you, that’s when you are able to have pricing elasticity. By that I mean you don’t have to compete to the bottom of the price list. People buy your brand for you, and you can charge what you truly deserve to make. On this episode of Creative Warriors, we are joined by a perception expert - Brian Boxer Wachler. Brian S. Boxer Wachler, MD, or Dr. Brian as his patients affectionately call him, is considered America’s TV Eye Doctor having appeared on Tod

  • 378: Talking Stick- Building a Community, Not a Business

    05/03/2018 Duración: 12min

When you think about your business as building a community and not just a business, it ups the game about how you think about the people who are going to provide for your business and your life. You will treat them as you would treat your friends and peers; as if you were going to meet each person face to face and make it a personal experience. I also provide some tips on how this can affect your email practices and how to create brand bonding. The Talking Stick is in your hands now. Let us hear from you. • 377: Tara Gentile- Disrupting Your Life and Business

    28/02/2018 Duración: 47min

We always hear the story of someone quitting their 9 to 5 job in the corporate world to become an entrepreneur.  What happens when an entrepreneur feels a need to shift? What about when they feel their mission is complete, and they want to move on to something else? There isn’t really a name for this entrepreneurial shift that happens. It’s something that many people hesitate about because they worry about their finances, or they worry it’s the wrong time. Much like taking the first leap into being an entrepreneur, shifting to a new area of entrepreneurship means taking a risk. Remember, you did it once there’s no reason you can do it again. Of course there will be a small amount of financial uncertainty, but the transition isn’t that scary and it’s always better to make less and be happy than make more and feel miserable.  On this episode of the Creative Warriors we bring on someone who knows a lot about making this pivot, Tara Gentile. Tara is the founder of CoCommercial, a digital small business community

  • 376: Thom Singer- The Paradox of Potential

    21/02/2018 Duración: 41min

There is an interesting thing that happens when it comes to labeling people with their “potential”. Some people think they are reaching their full potential, but if you’re like me you feel like you’re not there yet. When we say someone has a lot of potential that can cause them to stop in their tracks, and think they are already enough. Some people feel like if they make a change in life they’ll lose their potential and be starting over. Others feel like they need to do everything they can to fully reach their potential - yet it’s always just out of reach. To be honest, your mindset means more than your potential. If you are happy with where you are, it doesn’t matter. If you are always striving, learning, and trying to grow in any direction you can - that’s how you unlock your potential. The key is to always learn. Keep growing in one direction or another, because you never know where your potential will end up. This week we are joined by Thom Singer, who has spent a lot of time studying the results of label

  • 375: Talking Stick- The Secret Language of Service

    19/02/2018 Duración: 12min

I wrote LINGO to teach the 5-Step Secret Language Strategy to attract your ideal customers. What I realized afterward are all the other ways knowing your ideal customer's secret language can affect your business in a positive way. For example, in this episode, I talk about how this in-depth understanding of your ideal customer can help you determine what services best serve them. That "speak" to them.  The Talking Stick is in your hands now. Let us hear from you. Be part of the conversation - We want to hear your opinion on the topic. • 374: Jarie Bolander - The Culture of Entrepreneurs

    14/02/2018 Duración: 44min

Being an entrepreneur can often feel like a life or death situation. You make feel awkward, uncomfortable and nervous. Believe it or not, these are all strengths. To stay on top you need to stay hungry. You need to feel worried your life will sink, because if you become complacent someone else will come along and take over the space. The most important thing to keep in mind is that you don’t have to be the first out of the gate. Just because you aren’t the first person to do something doesn’t mean you have any less of a chance of success. On this episode of Creative Warriors we are joined by Jarie Bolander, who has studied the entrepreneurial culture in the 21st century and how much it’s been changing. Jarie is an engineer by training and an entrepreneur by nature. He has over 20 years of experience bringing innovative solutions to market such as Bluetooth, USB, RFID and Semiconductor DNA sequencing. He is currently the co-founder and COO of Lab Sensor Solutions, a digital health company that is applying sens

  • 373: Talking Stick- Law of Attraction vs Taking Action

    12/02/2018 Duración: 13min

This will probably be a pretty good debate between the law of attraction and taking action. While I look at both sides, in the end, you'll come to understand that it's a blend of both. But I do take a side. You'll have to listen to know how I chose and why. I also brought in a clip from my interview with Bob Proctor from two years ago. Bob was featured in the movie The Secret. You might be as surprised at what he had to say as I was. The Talking Stick is in your hands now. Let us hear from you. Be part of the conversation - We want to hear your opinion on the topic. • 372: Robb Holman- Leading Others From The Inside Out

    07/02/2018 Duración: 38min

Many times people try to lead Creative Warriors from the outside. They offer us material bonuses, or things that just aren’t satisfying. Creatives, though, chase purpose and fulfillment. That means we need to start at the heart, start with passions, and work our way from the inside out. Ultimately that means we should be working on our strengths. We should dedicate ourselves to what we are not only good at, but what we love doing. Let other people who are better than us in other areas work on our weaknesses. The goal is to find our joy in work, which is something that goes much much deeper than happiness. When we find this joy, it lights the fire of the people around us. It motivates them to work harder and find their joy in life. It’s like they say, success breeds success. On this episode of the Creative Warriors Podcast we are joined by Robb Holman. Robb is an internationally recognized leadership expert, executive coach, keynote speaker, and author who has a heart for authentic relationships and a true tal

  • 371: Lynn Robinson- Put Your Intuition to Work

    31/01/2018 Duración: 31min

There’s one thing so many of us do in business that hurts us more than helps. That is using our logic brain. Sometimes we need to shift our focus to our intuition and just trust our guts. Our intuition can guide us to the right path in so many ways that our conscious brains wouldn’t normally see. We all tend to listen to our intuition on personal issues, so why wouldn’t we do the same in business? There are some things only our subconscious mind realizes, so let it speak up. It’s something we need to practice every day to learn how to really listen to our intuition and be able to tell it apart from our negative inner voices. Luckily, on this episode of Creative Warriors, I brought in an expert to gives us simple actionable steps to developing our intuitions in business - Lynn Robinson. Lynn is a popular speaker on the hot topic of intuition. Her intuitive reading clients consistently praise her insights as “spot on,” resulting in personal clarity, creative solutions and overall success. She was Voted “Best In

  • 370: Talking Stick- Business with a Soul

    29/01/2018 Duración: 12min

I explain why the phrase "business with a soul" is in the intro of every Creative Warriors episode and why it's time has come. It's about more than having integrity in business. I think that's a given with heart-centered and purpose-driven entrepreneurs. It's about unifying the effort we apply with what's going on inside to get the results we want. I think you'll gain a lot out of this episode and see how this principle was the entire foundation for my book, LINGO, releasing tomorrow, January 30th, 2018. Go Warriors! • 369: Todd Henry - Be the Leader That Creative People Need

    24/01/2018 Duración: 51min

One of the biggest steps we have to take as creatives is working for ourselves, and starting our own business. This can come with its own set of challenges, but it's nothing to be afraid of. You may think of yourself as a solo worker, but the moment you start working for yourself or step up to a higher position you become a leader. Even if your team is remote, and you have Virtual Assistants or freelancers you’re still a leader. As they say, with great power comes great responsibility. Working with creatives below you means you have to respect them the way you like to be respected. Your team needs clear boundaries, and most importantly they need your trust. They need you to trust that they know the process it takes to get things done. Being a leader doesn’t mean taking the helm and controlling the ship. It means finding the right people to help you, and nurturing them along the way. Show them why things work, as opposed to just what works. On this episode of Creative Warriors, I am joined once again by Todd H

  • 368: Talking Stick- The New Niche

    22/01/2018 Duración: 09min

One of the concepts in my book LINGO that I am most excited to get out there and unleash Warriors from the restraints of out-dated business ideas is The New Niche. The old niche was restrictive--forcing creative people to limit themselves by choosing one thing to do and one audience to serve. The New Niche is expansive. Find out what it is and how to serve multiple audiences. The Talking Stick is in your hands now. Let us hear from you. Be part of the conversation - We want to hear your opinion on the topic. • 367: Vincent Pugliese- Freelance Your Way to Freedom

    17/01/2018 Duración: 37min

There’s a big misconception about money. So often we hear that money is the root of all evil. At the end of the day though, we all need it to pay our bills. Money itself is just a thing, and it’s all about how you choose to use that thing. Money itself can’t be evil, because it’s just an idea. When you have money, it allows you more opportunities and freedom. More money means you have more chances to help, give back, and achieve growth. On this episode of Creative Warriors we are joined by Vincent Pugliese. Vincent has a Bachelor Degree in Communication from Ohio University, where he was named National Champion for the William Randolph Heart Photojournalism Championship prior to graduation. Vincent has photographed for all of the leading wire services and various national and local publications throughout the United States. Vincent has photographed all major sporting and news events, including the Super Bowl, the World Series, the NHL Final, the NBA Conference Finals, The Kentucky Derby and even Wrestlemania!

  • 365: Steve McKee - Branding to Create Affection

    10/01/2018 Duración: 38min

Branding is something entrepreneurs often overlook and misunderstand. Many people think of branding as just being something that represents your company visually. It actually goes much deeper than that. Your branding has a lasting impact on your company. When done well your brand will continue to increase the value of your company over time. It’ll create the impression on your consumers that’ll keep bringing them back time and time again. If you really want your brand to work for your it needs to speak to people’s emotions. You need to strike them at their hearts, and appeal to their core. It may sound complicated, and even confusing but it’s really not. On today’s episode of Creative Warriors we are joined by Steve McKee, who truly understands good branding and helps break it down to something we can all understand. Steve is the president of McKee Wallwork + Company (MWC), Advertising Age’s 2015 Southwest U.S. Small Agency of the Year. A marketing strategist for nearly thirty years, Steve has held executive

  • 363: Nicholas Webb - Creating the Perfect Customer Experience

    03/01/2018 Duración: 50min

The world of business is changing so fast. Sometimes it feels overwhelming and hard to keep up with. To be honest, though, all we have to do is listen.  Customers and consumers today have more of a voice than ever before. They let us know exactly what they want, we just have to listen. Too many times we, as entrepreneurs and business owners, try to push what we think people want. Today we don’t need to look at demographics and try to lump people into groups. We can create a unique customer experience for everyone. We can get direct feedback, and find ways to improve based on exactly what the customer wants. On today's episode of Creative Warriors, we are joined by best selling author Nicholas Webb to discuss his new book What Customers Crave - which is used by top brands to design their customer experience (CX) and innovation strategies. Nicholas is one of the world’s top innovation strategists and futurists. As the CEO at Lassen Scientific, Inc. Nicholas works with Fortune 500 companies throughout the world

  • 362: Talking Stick- Getting Ready for 2018

    01/01/2018 Duración: 09min

It's that time of year when we bring one year to a close and prepare for the next. We excitedly set our goals and make our plans. All good! Except we often don't cover all four of the areas that I think are essential to making your goals come true-- vision, action, unblocking, and flow. In making your plans for the year ahead, it's natural to plan your vision and prepare to take action. But without unblocking what's potentially in your way and creating a positive flow, you're only doing half the work. The Talking Stick is in your hands now. Let us hear from you. • 361: Donovan Janus - How to Win Your Day

    27/12/2017 Duración: 43min

Have you been ending your days going, “Wow what have I done today?” or “I didn’t get nearly everything I wanted to done. Chances are you’ve fallen into the multitasking trap, and spent  a lot of your time and energy on content switching. Let me put it in a way that might make more sense to you. Think about how much time you spent on your phone going from app to app: You’re looking at one app and realize you need to do something else. You close down the first app You search for the second app. The second app has to load. As you look at the second app you realize you needed information from the first app. You close the second app. You find the first app. You load the first app. You get the information you need. You close the first app. You look for the second app again. The second app loads back up. You put in the information you need. That’s a lot of steps, and a lot of time spent to do something very simple. Your brain has to go through that same process when you try to multitask. It takes time to reset, an
