It can easily be said that 2020 has been a banner year for  author Brian Freeman. Earlier this year he released the thriller"Thief River Falls", which took readers by storm.  Brian took over the 'Jason Bourne" series with the blessings of the Robert Ludlam estate and The Bourne Evolution" hit the store shelves. It was a fire like no other! Danielle Teigen has just released her 2nd book the history of Fargo. People still talk about the great fire of 1893 and Danielle has put together a great chronological account on what happened before during and after that summer. How did the fire start? Ryan Hardy President of the Red River Theatre Organ Society announces that this years Silent Movie Night to benefit the Mighty Wurlitzer at the Fargo Theatre will be Virtual. Hardy will score the science fiction film "A Trip to the Moon" by Georges Méliès, a French magician who pioneered the use of special effects in film and was most recently portrayed as a character in the 2011 movie "Hugo". Lance Johnson will accompany the classic Buster Keaton comedy film, "One Week." He's been a busy man this year in the publishing world. Brian Freeman released "Thief River Falls" early this year. Fargo Theatre will now be offering newly released films you can watch at home. Sean Volk, Development and Engagement at the Fargo Theatre says that their first offering will be a documentary of the late Congressman and Civil Rights pioneer John Lewis, titled "John Lewis: Good Trouble." Patrons can simply go to the Fargo Theatre website and order the download there. It's just $12.00 and you'll have up to 30 days to watch the film. Half the proceeds will go to the Fargo Theatre. With the loss of Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg I thought it might be appropriate to replay an interview I had with Bryant Johnson, Judge Ginsburg's personal trainer.  Bryant is a man who was probably closest to her over the last several years and her reputation for sticking to a straight workout regimen development by Bryant, gave him the idea of the "RBG Workout" book.  (You may remember she took on Stephen Colbert in a workout competition. Assistant Professor and Artistic Director Jess Jung from NDSU announces the upcoming 2020-21 theater season and because of the pandemic...there's a twist. First up in October will be "She Kills Monsters:Virtual Realms" will be presented as a zoom production, live each night on your computer. In November "The Velveteen Rabbit" will be in the form of a podcast and sound much like the old time radio dramas of the 30's & 40's. Nine inches of rain washed out the first attempt at Pioneer day at Bonanzaville but now Events Coordinator Missy Warren says they're ready to go next Saturday Sept. 5th. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Women's Suffrage, visitors can speak to North Dakota suffragist Clara Dillon Darrow who will be giving her "I want to vote" speech. Other suffragists will include Elizabeth Preston Anderson, Helen DeLendrecie and Mary Weibel. While you're here, be sure to check out Bonanzaville's exhibit "I want to vote: 100 years of Women's Suffrage". Other activities include a kiddie tractor pull, kids haystack coin hunt, pioneer games, crafts, and much more!
