A history of both LGBTQ artists in the dance genre and music which has been a crucial part of the gay dance scene in a mix for pride parties. These mixes are a little bit out of the style of music we play but electronic genres and remixing would be nothing without gay clubs playing the music through the decades. This features artists which are both LGBTQ and those who have been symbols of pride or so called "Gay Icons" in a club mix format. The Earyummy label is dedicated to putting out Queer artists so acknowledging this history is important and, holy fluck, just party. We do not talk enough about the place Music has in our lives as a best friend in getting us through the most difficult times or simply a lonely existence. It is the reason most people in world listen to music, dance to music and play music. This subject is considered to render someone as an idiot in the world of the cultural press. This is bothered me since I began writing about music at my university newspaper. I am going to, to the best my ability, talk about how music has gotten me through things. In fact, it has been the engine of my optimism machine. I have never found any hardship to be particularly challenging because I have always been able to find song which speaks to the experience. Without fail, I find that same song speaking to a multitude of people. I am not a cynic and I believe this power of peopl coming together around an artist or a song is really where change begins.
