  • OUT OF TIME: Cats desperation turned to frustration as sloppy second allowed the Devils to propel

    04/03/2026 Duración: 38min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) and Jacob Winans(@JakeW_8) broke down the Panthers 5-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils. The Panthers had an opportunity to take control of the game in the second period after New Jersey lost their composure in the first period, but a sloppy play that ended up in a short handed breakaway opportunity where the Cats negated their own power play by committing a penalty of their own. New Jersey would score a four-on-four goal after that and the Panthers could not gain any momentum after that, trying line changes to the forwards and even switching up the bottom two defensive pairs. Paul Maurice let his frustration known during the first period during an interview where both teams were careless with the puck, but New Jersey was the team who was able to clean it up while Florida failed to do so, as the first saw a lot of two-on-one opportunities where Sergei Bobrovsky was not the issue for the Panthers. Being down by two in the thi

  • STUCK: Cats in the middle of push for playoffs and T10 lottery odds, & whether to sell or stand pat

    03/03/2026 Duración: 37min

On today's edition of the Locked on FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) continues the discussion on how the Panthers are stuck, being outside being in the top-10 lottery odds, and way out of the last playoff spot with 22 games to go, we discuss the record that is necessary for the Panthers to get to both positions. They are also stuck on what to do at the trade deadline, which is just over three days away. With two regulation losses coming out of the Olympic break, Florida is not in a position to buy. Can they actually get back valuable assets if they do decide to make trades? Is it more likely they stand pat? Panthers are back in action tonight in New Jersey to take on the Devils, and with their general managers seat being hot, the Panthers have a chance to win the season series as they could get forward or two back in the lineup. • FINAL NAIL IN THE COFFIN: Multi-goal lead blown, OT in reach, and the Panthers failed to get there

    02/03/2026 Duración: 37min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to discuss how the Panthers 5-4 loss on Long Islander against the Islander sealed their fate for the 2025-26 season as Anders Lee scored with 32 seconds left shortly after the Panthers tied it at four. However, it was another multi-goal lead where the panthers blew, and there have been five occasions to be exact when the Panthers have found themselves on the losing end when leading by at least two. Another theme has been when games have been tied in the final minute of the game, the Panthers have also found a way to come out with zero points. Which begs the question, was last night's loss the worst one of the season? • NO FATIGUE: Cats first period charge had them pulling away early against Toronto. Can it keep up?

    27/02/2026 Duración: 39min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) was joined by Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) to break down the Panthers 5-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Florida took full control of the first period where it looked similar to game seven vs. Toronto back in 2025, where the puck was consistently in the Leafs end, and Florida was able to pounce with three goals, them coming in all situations. Even Rodrigues led the way with nine shots in the game, and seven of them coming in the first period. Toronto then had the territorial advantage after the first period, and that's when Sergei Bobrovsky got to work, where he was able to track pucks well from all over the ice. Florida's defense gave very few high danger opportunities, and Bobrovsky was able to clean them up with the lack of rebound chances for Toronto. It's one win out of the Olympic break, and the Panthers have no room for error and getting healthier, can they keep this up as they are right back at it on Friday? We

  • SPRINT TO THE DEADLINE: Bill ZIto could possibly face some "uncomfortable" trade deadline decisions

    25/02/2026 Duración: 38min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here with Jacob Winans(@JakeW_8) discuss the adjustment with life after the Olympics as the Panthers will be back in action on Thursday against Toronto. Yes, there are 25 games left, but the true direction of the Panthers will be decided in these next five games before the March 6th trade deadline. There's a bit of noise from national personalities speculating what the Panthers could do with Panthers G Sergei Bobrovsky. Could the Panthers actually pull the trigger on a trade sending the goaltender that won them two Stanley Cup championships elsewhere as his contract is set to expire this offseason with the Cats salary cap health not being being in a great place? Aleksander Barkov was honored at Joe Dimagio Children's Hospital as he made another donation, and have also named a certain area out of him. With him getting some time on the ice, Bill Zito has shut the door on the possibility of season-ending LTIR'ing him, whi

  • RECRUITING OPPORTUNITY: How USA's Post-Gold Celebration in SFL could help the Panthers lure talent

    24/02/2026 Duración: 33min

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to discuss how Team USA's post-Olympic Gold Celebration could help the Panthers in the future to pursue talent to come to South Florida. Could the Panthers take similar steps to the Miami Heat as far as placing a banner up at Amerant Bank Arena to celebrate Matthew Tkachuk becoming the first Golden Panther? Lastly, Matthew Tkachuk could become the first American born player to become a triple gold club member(Stanley Cup, Gold Medal, World Championship), and that's all based on where the Panthers are compared to the rest of the Team USA players who are currently two-thirds of the way toward that accomplishment. Tkachuk also has a advantage based on the fact that the NHL resumes on Wednesday, but the Panthers do not until Thursday.
