The Strength of Body and Mind podcast is an informative and educational podcast dedicated to helping people create the mindset that they need in order to achieve all of their fitness, strength and health goals. It is the belief of the host, Gordon Light, that anyone and everyone is capable of getting the body of their dreams, the level of health they've always wanted, or the strength achievements that they've desired for years. It is also Gordon's belief that the obstacle that is stopping everyone is their mindset, but not in the way they are likely thinking about it. This podcast will dive deep into specific things on both the physical, nutrition and training content, but also content around the mindset and mental framework needed to execute on the former. Take a listen, and prepare to have your mind opened up in a way that will help you get the most of your life by first prioritizing health and fitness, starting with perspective and mental strength.

09/05/2019 Duración: 29minWhat is the #1 tool you use to measure your progress in fitness?If you're like most people, you default to using a scale to weigh yourself, and you stop there.This is useful, obviously. We need to know our weight to tell if we are increasing or decreasing in overall body weight.HOWEVER, you can't stop there.Most people are experiencing lean body mass changes WHILE ALSO experiencing body fat changes. The results of combining these two things affects weight in different ways for different people.For example, as you are dieting down to lose body fat you may experience a stall in weight loss because you may be increasing lean body mass as a result of progressively overloading your muscles into hypertrophy at the gym for the first time in a long time. EP90: Overcoming Self Doubt
07/02/2019 Duración: 23minDo you experience self doubt? Do you ever make so much progress towards something, and the further along you get, the harder it seems to get closer to the goal? Do you end up thinking WAY too much about what you're trying to achieve rather than actually take actions towards achieving it?Self doubt plagues us all, and it's what keeps most people from taking any action at all. When, in reality, if they had just put their head down and ignored the bullshit doubt in the back of their mind, and pushed forward to take small steps daily towards their goal, they would eventually get there.Losing 40 lbs doesn't happen overnight BUT you can't lose 40 lbs if you don't lose 1 lb first. You want to be lean and look great on the beach, or at the pool, or with your partner...well if you're 35% body fat now, you can't get to that goal without first getting to 34% body fat, and then 33%, and then 32%. The more you are able to ignore the magnitude of your goal, and the self-doubt behind achieving it, the more you will achieve

EP85: Strength Without the Physique
