How the Kingdom Arrives

Forgive and you will be forgiven

In this parable, Jesus teaches his disciples not only how to pray, but who they are praying too.

Luke 11v33-36 
 No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand. So that those who come in may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness. See to it then, that the light within you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light and no part of the dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you. 
 How we see the world and others matters. The health of our eyes is of extreme importance because our eyes allow us to see the world around us. It is the lantern of life. Our perspective and viewpoint are affected. If our lamp is shaded or hidden, by what fills it. Jesus knows that our lives can be affected by not only what we see, but also how we see the world. The window in which we see the world will also affect the lens on how we see our lives and others around

The Parable of the Sower is a glimpse of what the news of the kingdom does to the human heart. The fruit it produces and the King that provides it.

Do Not Worry Matthew 6v25-34 The rule of the kingdom of God is not orientation of lack, but contentment. Because though you don't have the worldly possessions you want, you have the heavily relationship you need this relationship guarantees, whatever befalls you, will always belong to him. The worry-free life is the God present life. Not that the God- trusting life is free from suffering or trials, but because God is your heavenly Father, that doesn't just know what you need, but he knows your heart's deepest desires. There will never be enough material possessions or strategic moves you can think of, which will safeguard you from suffering discomfort or dissatisfaction. There will always be a deeper ache that won't be healed by more things of this world. Because if there is an ache, there must be something that can meet that ache. Kingdom living is learning how to out the everlasting life as a gift.

Ask, Seek, Knock Matthew chapter 7:7-11 Ask, and it will be given to you seek, and you will find knock, and it will be open to you for everyone who asks, receives, and the one who seeks finds and to the one who knocks it will be open. Or which one of you, if his Son asks him for bread, will give him a stone. Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a. If you then who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask of him. The new year is a gift. What are you asking for this year? What are you seeking? What door are you looking for? These questions are the desired line paths that lead to your deep and most present longings. Jesus asks us to ask to reveal our lack in his abundance. He reveals our seeking as a prone to wander and invites us as the good shepherd to pick us up and put us around his shoulders to rest in green pastures.
