Brokenness | 1 Corinthians 5 St.Augustine writes, real love knows how “to love things…in the right order, so that you do not love what is not to be loved, or fail to love what is to be loved, or have a greater love for what should be loved less” (On Christian Doctrine, I.27-28). Therefore, God is good and is the source of all love and that love is good. We are made by God, and our true nature is not evil. Everything in our world has been made by God and it too is good. So where do sin and evil enter? As Ron Rolheiser says, “They enter in when we misuse the good energy that God has given us, and they enter in when we relate in bad ways to the good things of creation.” We can misuse our sexual affection when we use them in self-serving, lustful, greedy, and wicked ways. In this passage, Paul explains how important ones relationship to Church leadership is. Knowing that how one leads is of equal importance to how one follows. God will be the judge of the leader, so followers can follow gospel centered leadership, and leave the judging of which leadership style is better up to God.

A Home Called Sacred | 1 Corinthians 3:12-23 God is building the church on Jesus Christ, using his people, to dwell with his presence. We become unified as a church as we embrace union with God. What we do flows from our connection with God.

The wisdom you subscribe to is the destination that will lead you. Will it be a fading trend or a kingdom without end.

In the last passage, Paul contends to make the message of the cross central at the Church of Corinth. Now, Paul builds on the importance of the message of the cross by highlighting the way the message of the cross must be delivered. Paul delivered the Message in Humility, Single Heartedness, Honesty, Holy Spirit-Power, and Hope. Paul’s servant posture in delivering the message of the cross is the same posture that will bring true unity to a Church if they chose to follow in his example.

In a world dividing and pulling apart from each other, let us press into the center and cling to Jesus. Division in a community is because of an individual’s divided heart. However, when followers return to the center, they are held together by the gravitational pull of love for Jesus.

In this passage, we learn about prayers needing to be persistent, the heart posture must be right, and the pursuit of the Kingdom must be seen through the faith of a child. We are looking at the last phrase of the Jesus prayer "a sinner." It is not calling yourself a sinner to describe your past, but to declare your dependancy on the righteousness of God, through Christ Jesus.

This week we will be looking at the “Son of God” portion of the Jesus prayer. Because Jesus is the “Son of God” it means he has the power of restoration. Restorative work from the fall. Jesus is the exact image of the invisible God. This Aliso means Jesus is equal with God. Then lastly, Jesus has the authority from God as the Son. In the culture of Rome the title was left for Caesar alone, but early Christians denied Caesar as God and believed Jesus as the Son of God. www.everwellchurch.com @everwellchurch

In week 1 we will highlight Jesus as Lord of all, savior of souls, and the anointed one of God. When we recognize in what name and power we come in, our hearts are tuned to the truth of heaven. We believe that not only is Jesus God, but is able to release kingdom power into our world.

Paul concludes the letter to Rome through addressing co-laborers and partners in the Gospel advancement in Rome. He gives clear warning about people who would bring disunity, and then gives them clear direction to the source of their strength.

Paul is concluding his massive letter to the Romans, by reminding them that the Gospel message is for service to one another, that any work of the Gospel is through being in Christ, and to experience the refreshing fruit of the Gospel.
