Lend-A-Hand Up's Jeana Peinovich tells us of a fundraising auction that is underway for the Lassonde Family to help with mounting medical expenses.  Because of the pandemic, benefits have been cancelled. But this is your chance to help out the Lassonde family and they will get a 20 percent boost on monies raised  up to $5,000. Jasper's Theater in Park Rapids has been holding entertaining shows for the whole family for years. According to Kathie Brekke, the show will go on this summer but will be moved outdoors. New York Times Best Selling Author Howard Blum joined us on KFGO to talk about his amazing new book and Hitler's plot to kill FDR, Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin at a top secret meeting of the three leaders in Tehran. Mr. Blum takes you through the planning stages for Operation Long Jump, 50 Nazi commandos who were chosen to taken them. Kristi Hilton of M-State Moorhead joined us on the Harris Happening to chat a little bit about American Sign Language. With the continuous press conferences and speeches we've seen during this trying time in our lives, American Sign Language has been a hot topic among many. ASL Interpreters have been present at literally all of them. For individuals that are deaf or hearing impaired, It has been a way  to more easily communicate and absorb what is going on in our world. One of Saturday's guest on the Harris Happening on KFGO was our good from Kathy Diekman from the Chahinkapa Zoo in Wahpeton. There was sad news today on the death of one of the great comedic actors of our time. A Master of the ad-lib, Fred Willard star of TV and films passed away at the at of 86.  In June of 2011 Fred had put his name to a new trivia book on films,  I had received an email from his publisher stating that Fred was available for interviews and would I be interested in having him on the show. I remember saying "Are you kidding? Absolutely!" As ;you'll hear Fred was a great man to chat with, very friendly, very appreciative and you knew he had fun, because instead of the standard 10 minutes he was with us for almost 20. R.I.P. Fred Willard, you brought a ton of joy and laughter to millions around the world. Enjoy the interview everyone.

This week, Bob Harris of KFGO and Scotch from Jack-FM talk with actress Joy Harmon about the film "Village of the Giants" as well as her iconic car wash scene in "Cool Hand Luke." We catch up with Joy and find out what she's doing today and what it was like doing all of those great TV and movie roles that she's known for. She runs a bakery now "Aunt Joy's Cakes" with her kids and is also authoring a series of children's books! Have a listen!

Joey Kuntz.  Joey has been working on a lot of new material and this is his 4th song that will be featured on an upcoming  EP or Cd. He's in the Bakersfield Ca area now, and with virtual teaching with his students and a new member of the family, making it 3 kiddos now, Joe still finds time to be creative in the music field.  We'll get filled in and hear the new song and find out if the Fillers might ever reunite using that virtual computer stuff we're seeing. On the Harris Happening, we had the pleasure of chatting with Kendra from Tigirlily on several things. Nashville's not only battling the pandemic but weather as well with a number of areas around the city being without power for days. How isolation is affecting their music, they've been performing on line but waiting to get the okay to get back on stage. Both are graduating from Belmont College this year and they have a new single "Unravel" available for download everywhere and the new video is up on their youtube channel as well. It's one of the favorite entertainment spots in Northwestern Minnesota. The Sky-Vu Drive-in Theater in Warren Minnesota. Steve Novak joined us to talk about the steps they had to take in order to open because of the pandemic. Including some changes, a least for a while, at the snack counter.  And what happens if you try to sneak people through in the trunk of your car! Steve also mentioned that a couple of high schools have booked the Drive-In site for there high school graduation ceremonies.

Your connoisseurs of all-things-cheesy are back with another 1950's classic. Bob Harris is joined by Scotch from Jack FM, and they take a look at the Roger Corman 1957 classic, "Attack of the Crab Monsters." This is a good one! Featuring Russell Johnson (Gilligan's Island), Pamela Duncan, a great character actor in his day Ed Nelson and an entire island taken over by enormous, mutated, telepathic crabs that are bent on world domination, Attack of the Crab monsters is a must see. We've all seen the tremendous musical talents on Facebook over the last few weeks. Regional singer/songwriter Michael Pink will be staging another performance this Saturday night from 7:30 to 9 pm. We get a little behind the scenes look at how his show is set up. The requests he gets and the on line tip jar that most musicians use to help make up for lost income during this pandemic situation.
