The 1970s were filled with social upheaval and racial tension in America. On many occasions, it boiled over into violence. New Haven, Connecticut was the scene of violent turmoil in the wake of the city's Urban Renewal Project, which displaced minority communities from neighborhoods they had lived in for generations. Author and producer Dion Baia grew up in New Haven and has written a book called Blood in the Streets, a fictional account of the violence and social unrest of that era. His book follows veteran homicide detective Frank Suchy as he learns to cope with past and present traumas in order to track down the murderer of his best friend's child. Baia will join me to discuss the book and his real-life experiences growing up just a few short years after New Haven earned the title "Gun Wavin' New Haven". A writer for CNN has suggested that women should consider withholding sex from their partners to influence the men to vote for "women's equality". I guess we'll see how that works out. A disabled Air Force veteran in Houston had a read time going to vote, I'll talk about why. At this very moment, a group of about 3,000 people are marching to the United States where they are planning to request refugee status. This "March of the Migrant", as it’s being called, started in Honduras this past Saturday with about 1,300 people and the group seems to be growing as they get closer to the U.S. border. This past Friday the Metropolitan Republican Club in Manhattan, which houses the Manhattan Republican Party and the New York City regional office of the New York Republican Party, was vandalized, including broken windows and spray-painted anarchist symbols. It has been over a year since the shooting at the Route 91 Harvest music festival in Las Vegas. Because we believed that America is still the land of liberty, based in rule of law, the principles of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. We'll discuss the latest. NBC cuts the feed on SNL as the end credits were rolling because Kanye West was giving a pro-Trump speech. Elon Musk was unable to weather the storm and is stepping down at Tesla Motors and his wallet is a little lighter as he goes. Justin Trudeau all but admits that he is no match for Donald Trump by asking Mexican President-elect to intervene and help Canada remain in NAFTA.
