This week on UP2, the crew take a look at the one of the technophobic “Star Trek Does the Amish” episodes that always turn out SO well, “Paradise.” Sisko and O’Brien are trapped on a planet containing human colonists, the survivors of a crashed ship. The survivors, and their leader Alixus, have rejected technology as the basis of their seemingly paradise-like civilization. However, Sisko and O’Brien quickly realize that the colony is less a paradise, and more like a prison. What did the UP2 crew make of this episode? This week, on a belated episode of Upper Pylon 2, special guest star Lou from TrekMate’s The Battle Bridge joins the UP2 crew to take a look at the Twilight Zone-esque O’Brien mystery thriller “Whispers.” After returning from a diplomatic mission, O’Brien begins to notice that the both DS9’s senior staff and even his own family are treating him differently, almost as if no one trusts him. As tensions increase, O’Brien’s suspicions grow deeper. Has something happened to the station in his absence, or could the truth be something much more personal? Upper Pylon 2 is here for Christmas and where there was plenty of cheer to go around, this episode rips it all to shreds and dumps out all the egg nog. Not a lick of Christmas spirit will be left when the crew takes on this particular episode.

In lieu of our regularly scheduled episode today we bring you a Christmas treat. Because of the holli-daze we will be putting out the new episode on Sunday this week, and then back to normal the following week. Have a Merry Christmas!

This week on UP2, epic forum poster Keiran MacDuff joins the UP2 crew as we take a look at the episode featuring the return of Grand Nagus Zek and the first mention of the “D” word in Deep Space Nine, “Rules of Acquisition.” Grand Nagus Zek returns to Deep Space 9 with a once in a lifetime proposition for Quark: becoming the first Ferengi to establish a business foothold in the Gamma Quadrant. In order to accomplish this, Quark enlists the help of his business-savvy new employee, Pel. However, there may be more than meets the eye when it comes to this cunning employee.
