Repentance is the path to restoration, not a punishment. It requires a radical pursuit of God and His purposes in our lives.

There is a secret to life, relationships and moving forward in your faith. It is the way of self-denial. It is the process of disciplining yourself and following the way of Jesus in being emptied of yourself and filled with something more.

The Way of Jesus is the Way of Worship and it includes a heart of gratitude and celebration.

Jesus said that he was the way to life and truth. He also said that there was a way of following him that led to eternal, abundant life. We have to choose to follow this way if we want to experience this kind of life.

Jesus didn't enter into a picture perfect world. Mary and Joseph were away from family, registering for higher taxes and they had to run for their lives for years in Egypt. In all of that trauma, God was with them. In the good and the bad, God is with us.

We have this light in us that we are meant to share WITH the world and love often looks a lot like work, according to Jesus.

We share the light of the world when we function as the church is meant to function.

Jesus said having the light of the world means walking in the light.

Jesus showed us to the way to make a friend and deal with toxic relationships.

We took a break this week to talk about a very specific way to be a friend with Ric Adams and Kenn Brown who recently spent time helping with the clean up in Florida after Hurricane Ian.

We were made to have deep friendships where we are committed to each other and to God. Real friendship happens when we are recieving from and giving to our friends.

We all struggle through trials and hardships. The last 3 years have tested in new ways as we deal with the aftermath of collective trauma. God intends for you to be resilient in the face of difficulty but it begins by taking care of our souls, our inmost beings.
