How can I safely increase my weekly mileage without injuries?
27/07/2015 Duración: 04minOn this episode of the Ask Coach Parry podcast, I’m Brad Brown with Lindsey Parry joining us once again. Lindsey, another great question in this time, it was on Facebook as well, from Jenny Groenewald, Jenny said, how can I safely increase my weekly mileage without injuries and tiring myself out completely. Jenny says that she finds when she does do runs a few days in a row, by the third day she doesn’t run particularly well. So I think it’s a fantastic question and one that a lot of people, particularly when they’re starting out, the mistake that they make is try to run consecutive days and too many and they do pick up niggles and feel rubbish. How to transition to a lower drop shoe
13/07/2015 Duración: 03minFantastic question been submitted for this edition of the Ask Coach Parry podcast, it comes in from Ryan Spencer. Lindsey, Ryan says he’s a keen trail runner, he does the odd 10 and 21km on the road. Off road he runs with low to medium drop shoes, he runs in Innovates and wants to move to similar on the road. Can he do this in one go, or should he gradually drop his road shoes, which obviously could turn out to be quite pricey. The brand that he’s running in on the road now is New Balance and he knows that they do now do low drop shoes as well, he’s pretty sure. Subconsciously he’s already slightly altered his road running style to be more front mid foot with shorter steps than on the old heel strike. What’s the best way to go about transitioning for Ryan?
