Grounded in the Old Testament scriptures. Peter quotes: Joel 2, (verse 17 – 21), Psalm 16, (verse 25 – 28) Stephen quotes: Amos and Isaiah in Acts 7. Philip quotes Isaiah 53 in Acts 8. Paul quotes several OT writers in Acts 13. James quotes Amos in Acts 15. 2. A continuation of the teachings of our Lord. Acts 1:1- 7. What Dr Luke began in the Gospel he continues in the book of Acts. (see Luke 24:25-27, 44-49) We may add that every teaching of the Lord Jesus in the four Gospels is restated or expanded in the Epistles. 3. In harmony with all the scriptures. (The New is in the Old contained, The Old is by the New explained) To establish a doctrine/teaching we need to take in the whole Word of God. The Bible reveals God as a missionary God, therefore the Bible is a missionary book. 2. The Bible reveals Jesus as a missionary Person, ever seeking and saving the Lost. 3. The Apostles were all missionaries and most laid down their lives for the Lord. 4. The commission of our Lord to His followers was a missionary message. 5. The practise of the early church. 6. The teaching of the apostles in the Epistles has a missionary focus. 7. The history of the true church of the Lord Jesus has been to go to all nations. What has been the motivation of the followers of the Lord Jesus to become missionaries? 1. Obedience to their Lord and Saviour. 2. A genuine concern (compassion) for the lost. Close Yet Still Far
07/10/2012 Duración: 48minAndrew Cowell 7/10/12 Key Verses: Mark 12:28-34 (ESV) Before someone can enter the kingdom of God they often need answers to significant questions: 1. What keeps me outside the kingdom of God? 2. Why can't I earn my way into the kingdom of God? 3. What has God done so I can enter the kingdom of God? 4. What must I do to enter the kingdom of God? Every person needs to understand that it is possible to be a Christian in a religious sense yet still be far from having a personal relationship with Christ. The only way to enter the Kingdom of God is to trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. This means turning from trusting in your good works to depending fully upon Jesus death and resurrection to save you from your sin.

Winning Spiritual Warfare
30/09/2012 Duración: 35minPhillip Gummerson 30/09/12 Key Verses: Ephesians 4:22-5:2 Winning Spiritual Warfare 3 Points: Avoid sin Balanced living Christocentric Life 1. Avoid Sin (Romans 6:11-14 - NIV) Choosing to sin or persisting in sin isn't just losing, it;s the same as being a traitor. Psalm 19:13 - NIV 2. Balanced Living (1 Corinthians 6:12,13,19,20- NIV) The Challenge: Is there any legitimate (not sinful) activity or substance which you would have difficulty giving up, right now, for 1 week? The question is not "why should I?", but "can I?" You will not last long-term in Spiritual Warfare if you don't manage your lifestyle. (Mark 12:30 - NIV) 3. Cristocentric Life (John 15:4,5,7,8 - NIV) The main key to winning in Spiritual Warfare is this Christ In-dwelling & dwelling in Christ. (Colossians 3:3 - NIV)

The Defense against Satanic Afflicition
23/09/2012 Duración: 49minAndrew Cowell 23/09/12 Key Verses: 1 Peter 5:8-9, Ephesians 6:13-16 In order to stand firm amidst the afflictions of Satan every believer must understand three crucial concepts: 1. What Satan can't do to afflict Believers. 2. What Satan can do to afflict Believers. 3. What Believers must do when being afflicted by Satan. Every believer will experience God’s protection in Spiritual Warfare if they stand upon God’s supernatural provisions and submit to God’s divine instruction. Every believer will stand firm amidst the afflictions of Satan if they take up the shield of faith by reckoning what God says to be true. We can take up the shield of faith by - looking back upon God's goodness, - meditating on God's character, - holding on to God's promises.
