Have you ever been in real need? I’m not talking about a rough patch for a few weeks, but in need beyond your ability to handle. Many times through our lives, we hear stories of people who had a great need and God used someone else to meet that need, sometimes even supernaturally. There’s something different about those people. They love the hard to love. They pray instead of fight. They give when they don’t have much. They seem to operate by a whole different set of values. That’s what Jesus does in us. His generosity becomes our generosity. His life is our life.

There are so many amazing things that happen in a person’s life when they place their faith in Jesus Christ for their salvation. There is a friendship that begins between us and him. But not just any kind of friendship. It is a relationship that is so close, He calls us family. He becomes our dad who cares for us as sons and daughters. There is love, security, and acceptance that is unwavering, unchanging and unending. Have you experienced such a thing?

Walking in step with the Spirit will draw us into close Koinonia fellowship with other Christians where things are worked out for the protection of the gospel and the ministry of the body. We love the unbeliever as Jesus loves them, but we don’t compromise or set aside our faith in order to connect with them. We walk out of the world. We willingly, joyfully walk out of the world’s acceptance and approval and into the arms of our father. No more compromises. No more division. We leave, repent of sin and turn to him. We leave so we may find.

As we look at 2 Corinthians 6 today, it would be easy to read this and think it is all about the Apostle Paul’s life and doesn’t have much to do with your life. God may want to speak to you today about your ministry to your family or your spouse; He may want to show you how you see the relationships in your life and some of what His plans for your life may be. Are you playing tug of war with God feeling as though He just doesn’t quite do what you think He should? My invitation to you today is to give up, give in, let go, lose it all. Possess nothing so you can have everything in Him.

To be an ambassador for Christ is a political term when Paul wrote it. He wanted us to see the awesome privilege we have of being representatives of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. The word “For” in the phrase “Ambassador for Christ” is the Greek Huper which means on behalf of or in one’s stead. It reappears at the end of the verse – “we beg you on behalf of Jesus Christ.

Living in Jesus is awesome, right? We have a freedom from living under the taskmaster of a performance driven world and a religion that’s all about rules. The presence of joy in our lives is unspeakable and full of glory. There is a peace that goes beyond even our understanding of it. There is a love from our father that will never be removed. We live every day wearing the full armor of God demonstrating His power against the temptations and tactics of the enemy. Jesus is beyond description.

God is in complete authority and yet loves us so deeply. His very nature produces an awe in us that spills over into how we operate day to day. He is so, so good to you and it’s not because you’re good, but because you're His. His love is something you never get over. It captures, apprehends you. It changes how you look at the world, the future.

We love stories of God’s deliverance. There was Daniel from the Lion’s Den; Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego from the fiery furnace. Remember Joseph being delivered from being a prisoner to 2nd in command of the entire land. There’s the deliverance of the children of Israel from their captivity in Egypt where God parted the sea, destroyed Pharaoh’s pursuing army and brought them into the promised land. There’s story after story where God acted to show His glory by delivering the helpless, the captive, the desperate. This is what He does.

Many of us today are living as though there is no power available. It's as as if we are still living in the graveyard of the past. Or maybe we feel inadequate for ministry we've been called to. We are like broken vessels. Whatever you face today, this is not the end of your story. God is using it all to be able to display His power and priceless treasure through you.

Everyone can adopt ideas or things that challenge the simplicity of God’s grace to us in Christ and steal our focus away from the face of Christ. But when people hunger for the glory of God to invade their lives- things, priorities, and relationships change. The Spirit is unleashed, and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

There is a new covenant and it is of the Spirit whereas the Old Covenant was of the letter. Living by the letter (rules) kills and condemns. The good news is that the Spirit gives life!

Relationships are difficult from time to time. Paul has found that to be the case with the Corinthian church as we work our way through 2 Corinthians. He is addressing a breech that has occurred in his relationship with the church. Here we learn about repentance and wanting reconciliation along with both the effects of unforgiveness and the benefits of forgiveness.

Perhaps people assigned motives to your decisions that were incorrect. This happened to Paul.
