  • The Strategy for the Future

    26/11/2017 Duración: 39min

In order to understand chapter 11, you have to know a little of the background. The interior city of Jerusalem had been laying in the rubble of the broken wall for many years and it had become a real slum. Over the years, Jews had slowly migrated to outlying communities to get out of the “bad neighborhood”. But now that the wall was rebuilt, Jerusalem was a different city, but everyone had established their homes in the suburbs. So who was going to live or occupy the city. Was it going to be a beautiful city with a gorgeous wall but no one living there or was a strategy needed for the Jewish people going forward.

  • The Revival

    19/11/2017 Duración: 37min

In chapter 9, we see the response of the people to the hearing of the Word and almost the whole chapter is a prayer to God. In fact, it’s the longest prayer in the bible. As we delve into it I want us to remember that God does not exist for the sake of our enjoying bible stories but bible stories exist for the sake of our enjoying God. Bible stories are not isolated events, just as history is not merely a series of events. History reveals the divine hand of God in the midst of the human drama. The universe declares the glory of God. The story of history reveals who God is – what he is like, his character, His renown, the power of His name.

  • The Strong Word of the Lord

    12/11/2017 Duración: 41min

It’s hard for us to imagine the spiritual fire in the hearts of the people of Israel upon completion of the wall. They had done something that seemed impossible and humanly speaking it was; to rebuild the broken wall of Jerusalem. God had called them to a great task. They had overcome attacks of the enemy, their own discouragement and fatigue by the mighty hand of God and now it was done. When we follow Christ, there will always be spiritual challenges. We will often face hills to climb that seem too steep and we recognize our need for God. Yet, when we see the hand of God move in our lives to accomplish what only He can do, we are drawn to Him; to His word; to His life. Our faith is strengthened and our worship overflows.

  • The Spiritual Warfare

    05/11/2017 Duración: 37min

The work is almost complete. Success is at hand and the enemies are plotting to sabotage the whole thing even at this final point. The enemy knows that when success is at our door, pride can easily sneak in and that is something he can use.

  • The Correction of God's People

    29/10/2017 Duración: 32min

The story of Nehemiah centers around the rebuilding of the broken wall of Jerusalem. The Jews had lived in deplorable, shameful conditions and Nehemiah was sent by God to lead in the reconstruction of the wall. He rallies the troops, fights off the opposition, deals with fatigue and discouragement within his own forces and the wall is proceeding. But then we have this fifth chapter where it now becomes obvious that yes, God wants the wall built, but he has greater plans. His plans are to recapture the hearts of His people.

  • The Building of the Wall

    22/10/2017 Duración: 36min

In today’s Scripture, we see some incredible truths in how to live for God in the midst of the struggle of the world around us. As I’ve studied this, I’ve marveled at how there’s not anything new. What worked in 445 B.C. still works today. Let’s work our way through the chapter.

  • The Enemy

    08/10/2017 Duración: 37min

There are so many of the situations we read about in Nehemiah that have modern day parallels. The Jewish people had been living in the rubble of the broken-down wall for generations. They had gotten use to the shame it brought on them. Today, the church, in some ways has gotten use to the declining, non-influential, often divisiveness and powerlessness that goes on year after year. God raises up Nehemiah to do something about it and the people come to life, are inspired to change things. God raises up men and women of God today to wake the church up from it’s powerless ways; to trust in Him again for the salvation of their communities. When the wall started to be built and the status quo changed, opposition from the enemies of God began to oppose. The church that is on fire with the Spirit of God will always face opposition.

  • Dissonance...the path to abundant life.

  • The Starting Point

    24/09/2017 Duración: 36min

Any great work of God begins with people coming before God and declaring their need for him. If we’re going to keep everyone of our kids strong in the faith, prepare them to encounter the false beliefs all around them today, we will need the very power of God to do that. If we are going to repair what has been broken in our society, we will never be able to make any difference without Him at the center of everything we do.

  • The Challenge

    17/09/2017 Duración: 35min

Investigation (WHAT IS THE TRUTH?)- Am I willing to let the Holy Spirit investigate my life? Cooperation (WHO WILL HELP?) - Apart from him, we can do nothing. So, my cooperation with His plan is what unleashes His power to build walls against all odds. Determination (WHO WILL KEEP BELIEVING?) - It will require determination when the arrows of opposition begin to fly. Determination in many ways is simply faith

  • The Preparation

    10/09/2017 Duración: 33min

"I’m praying that God will place on us an ever-increasing burden for the darkness in the world around us so that we can see the rubble in people’s lives. I’m praying it breaks our hearts to the point where God births in us the plan, the strategy, for rebuilding the broken. When the good hand of our God is upon us, no obstacle is too big, no enemy too great. He will provide the resources; he will provide His leadership; he will provide a way and He will greatly bless us." - Sermon quote, Pastor Dave Roberts.

  • The Need

    03/09/2017 Duración: 36min

As a church, we should ask God to help us feel what He feels about our church, our community, our nation. Give us your heart, Lord Jesus. It is never God’s will for churches to be ineffective in changing their world. That He would give us His heart for our community so that when we see the lost, the broken, the hopeless, we say “not on my watch.”

  • One Nation Under God

    27/08/2017 Duración: 30min
  • When Things Don't Go My Way

    20/08/2017 Duración: 28min

God does not respond to what we do. We respond to what God does. So what does God do? He loves!

  • Wisdom from the Rich and Young

    13/08/2017 Duración: 39min

Steven Hill is the Younng Adults Pastor at Austin Ridge Bible Church. "May we be like the rich young man who falls on his feet before Jesus and didn't care what other other people think. But may we not be like the rich young man who got the right answer from Jesus but did not obey".

  • Legacy of Relationships

    06/08/2017 Duración: 06min

There is no greater legacy any of us could leave than to say that we have finished the mission God had given us. It could be a mission of kindness, of love, of truth. God may use you to completely alter your family tree that’s been filled with alcoholism, divorce, abuse, and it goes back generations. But not anymore because of you. From now on, children will be brought up in the faith. There will be blessing instead of curses because you have become the pivot point in your family tree because of Jesus.

  • Legacy of Diligence

    23/07/2017 Duración: 42min

Does my life match up with my words? God’s Spirit living in us will always be moving us towards spiritual transparency. He wants us to deal with our temptations, our prideful selfishness so that we invite others in. We’re real people working through our issues, seeing the truth in Scripture, so that the beauty of Christ is fully seen in us.
