27/01/2021 Duración: 01h21minBefore anyone asks, we want to assure you that this is an entirely new episode. Brand spanking new! We recorded it Sunday morning (to free up our time later that night to watch the Chiefs game!) and had a great time putting it together. It was only after the episode was done did we realize that our talking points are almost exactly the same as last week's show. Talk about the new episode of WandaVision? Check! Share our recent reads? Check! Discuss the DC Universe Infinite app? Check! Provide our Pick 3 choices of new books, sponsored by Clint's Comics? Check! Review of new Batwoman? Check! So, if you liked last week's show, you are going to love this one! If you didn't like last week's show, well, we will remind you this is a free show and we are glad you are still checking in with us. And please come back next week! We would love to hear your comments on the show. Let us know what you've been reading or watching this week. WCPEver Episode 343 - WandaVision on Disney+
20/01/2021 Duración: 01h08minSo... watched anything good lately? Maybe a comedy? Or a satire? Ooooh, wouldn't it be fun to watch a show with a lot of mysteries behind it, like Lost? Well, look no further, as all of those questions can be resolved with the release of WandaVision on Disney+. The first and second episodes were released last Friday, and all of the guys had the chance to sit down and take in the shows. This is a quirky show, focusing on two of our favorite Avengers from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. To help out our loyal listeners, we have gone ahead and answered some of the most popular questions we have received on our Google machines in the last week. So, where does this fit in the cinema timeline? We don't know yet. What is this S.W.O.R.D. that is subtlety referenced in each episode? We don't know yet. Where are Wanda and the Vision going to set up a baby registry? We don't know yet. So should I watch this? ABSOLUTELY! We also have a one-two punch of comic goodness. Earlier this week, we saw the return of the Arrowverse

WCPEver Episode 342 - The 27 Run: Crush with Justin Zimmerman
13/01/2021 Duración: 01h09minSo nine weeks ago, we had writer Justin Zimmerman on the podcast to talk about his upcoming book, The 27 Run: Crush. And today that book hits retailer shelves across the country. So we brought Justin back into the studio to discuss the new book and all the work that goes into publishing a book once the book is done. Now, if you listen closely -- and we know you do! -- there is a special giveaway promotion hidden within the podcast. Because who doesn't like a free comic? Listen close and enter to win! The original book, The 27 Run, came out in 2018 and is still available via Amazon, Comixology, or the publisher A Wave Blue World's website. The book can be summed up as Mechs vs Monsters with a black-comedy twist. If you are a fan of Godzilla or the Pacific Rim movies, this is the title for you! In addition, we have our Pick 3 selections for January 13, sponsored by our friends at Clint's Comics. Obviously, we want you to pick up The 27 Run: Crush today, but here are three more books to keep an eye out for as y

WCPEver Episode 341 - Wonder Woman 1984 Movie Review
06/01/2021 Duración: 01h01minOn this week's episode of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, we are still trying to wrap up 2020 with our movie review of Wonder Woman 1984, which debuted on HBO Max and in theaters on Christmas Day. Helmed again by director Patty Jenkins, and starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine, the movie takes place in 1980s Washington DC. In this installment, Wonder Woman has her hands full with the dual threat of Cheetah and Maxwell Lord. And all is right in the WW mythos as we finally get the Invisible Jet. Now, if you have seen any commentary on the internet over the last two weeks, you have noticed by now that this movie has provoked a lot of strong reactions, both positive and negative. And you're going to hear some of those arguments on the show today. The bottom line from the discussion is that we all have the right to our opinions. If you loved WW84, that's awesome, and your opinion is valid. If you didn't like WW84, we understand your disappointment, and your opinion is valid too. We have our Pick 3 choices for new

30/12/2020 Duración: 01h34minOn this week's episode of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, 2020 is quickly coming to an end, so we have one last check-in on the #My500ComicGoal challenge! We even invited friend-of-the-show Mike Nickells into the studio to discuss this movement he helped start last January. Who would have thought back then that we would have time this year to reach 500 comics read? And we're sure that some of you are wondering if we reached 500 books? Collectively, we sure did! We also take the opportunity to point out some of the 2020 highlights (not an oxymoron!) of our reading and viewing from the last 366 days, give or take. There really was a lot of great stuff out there in 2020, and we'll run down some of those for you. We thought we might discuss WW84 this week, but we talked about so many comics this week, we need to push the movie discussion back seven days. Tune in next week for our thoughts on Diana in the 1980s. Of course, we have our Pick 3 choices for new books hitting the stores today. As of the posting of t

WCPEver Episode 338 - Marvel Spotlight with Don Leibold
16/12/2020 Duración: 01h20minOn this week's episode of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, we are joined by Don Leibold to discuss the Marvel 616 series on Disney +. This show debuted in November 2019, but in all fairness, we were focusing on season 1 of The Mandalorian then. While we are still focusing on Mandalorian, we have all had a little more free time over the last few months to watch some additional programming. Marvel 616 takes a look at the impact of the comics and characters in the real world. Episodes focus on how a monthly comic is made, international artists, cosplay, school plays with Marvel characters, toys and so much more. These episodes usually clock in around one hour and can be watched in any order. Of course, we have to cover the many announcements Disney made last week at their investors' meeting, with all of the new projects due to role out in theaters or on Disney + in the next two years. That could have been an entire podcast just with those announcements. We have our Pick 3 choices for new books hitting the she

WCPEver Episode 336 - Holiday Comics with Jim McClain
02/12/2020 Duración: 01h30minOn this week's episode of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, the holiday season is finally here. After a year like 2020, we find ourselves thinking back to past holiday seasons with positive memories. Obviously, with a show like WCPEver, our holiday memories focus on the holiday comics of our youth, which is a good reason to bring friend-of-the-show Jim McClain back to hang out with us! Now, if you've listened to us for any length of time, you know that sometimes we get off track, as a comment will bring up a side conversation followed by another side conversation. So, that said, we ramble all over the place this episode. We also catch up on some Star Wars viewing, discussing The Mandalorian and the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special. So, who's getting a Grogu for Christmas this year? As always, we have our Pick 3 selections for this week, sponsored by our friends at Clint's Comics. WCPEver Episode 335 - Ranking Movies with Vince Vaughan
25/11/2020 Duración: 01h45minOn this week's episode of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, we have made it to Thanksgiving Eve! For many people, we have a long four-day weekend ahead of us with our immediate family... the same family you have been quarantining with since mid-March. But have no fear, as the guys at WCPEver have you covered. This week, you get: One of our longer episodes, as we know you will have plenty of time to listen to it. A fun conversation with friend-of-the-show Vince Vaughan of the Technically Drinking Podcast. Vince and his crew (Eddie, Eden, and Taylor) have been knocking it out of the park for the last two years as the premier podcast for nerds who like to argue and drink. Vince brought along a list that he is working on to rank/categorize all of the many movies derived from comic book origins. Will we spend a lot of time discussing the Fantastic Four films? Not likely. Is Black Panther one of the all-time greatest comic book movies? We may be swaying Vince's opinion. Should Superman: The Movie and Superman II

WCPEver Episode 334 - DC Changes and Comic Talk
18/11/2020 Duración: 01h22minOn this week's episode of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, it's been a while since we have had a chance to just talk about comics. Sure, we put out a podcast last week and talked comics then. But this is a week when we could just get into our reading piles and review some reads. We also spend some time discussing changes and speculation regarding DC Comics. Staffing changes were made last week, and not in a good way as many editors were let go. Add in the rumor mills that hint that DC may be looking at a digital-only approach to the monthly titles. And what does this mean for Wonder Woman 84? Of course, we are going to have things to say about all of this! As always, we have our Pick 3 selections for this week, sponsored by our friends at Clint's Comics. Please remember to support your local comic shops, especially as we head into the holiday season. Don't let those pull books pile up, loyal listeners! Buy those comics, read them, then send us a note and tell us about them. We finish the episode with a disc

WCPEver Episode 332 - Wherever I Go, He Goes
04/11/2020 Duración: 01h16minWith all of the craziness in our world right now, a little bit of calmness returned to our lives last Friday with the release of episode 1 of The Mandalorian Season 2 on Disney +. After all, if we are going to be discussing Batman: Three Jokers, we need a third Joker for the conversation, right? With the release of the second issue, more questions are raised with few answers provided. What are Batman's true feelings about Red Hood? What's going on between Batgirl and Red Hood? And why was Joe Chill in Crime Alley that night? This story has us all shades of confused, but we want more. Give us the third issue now, DC! Cullen shares the details of a recent Kickstarter project that he supported, and Jerry got in a reward from a Kickstarter last spring. We also run down what we have been reading lately, with Jerry pushing to reach 2,000 books read by the end of the year.
