So, here you go, episode #600! We could have lined up a super-star guest. But we are the worst. We could have put together a greatest hits clips show. But we are the worst. The guys got to fulfill a handful of dreams last weekend, as we all gathered at Clint's Comics to help get the store set up following the move to Independence. Cullen flew in from Portland to join Jerry and John (along with our friend Mark Willis!) to move the back issue boxes into order and stock the shelves with hardcovers and trade paperbacks. There is still some work that needs to be done, but it is looking like a comic book store for sure! Jerry and John made a trip to Independence, Missouri, on Saturday to stop in at the new home for Clint's Comics. Located at 815 N. Noland Rd, it is just four miles north of I-70, which makes it easy to get to. Sharon is still getting the new store in order, so give her another week or two before you rush in to welcome her to the neighborhood. Netflix made like The Godfather and made an offer on Warner Brothers / Discovery that they could not refuse. Of course, we make mention of this because DC Comics has long been a part of Warner Bros. What does it mean to us? Will we be able to read comics on the same app that we are watching Stranger Things on? Will the next James Gunn Superman movie premiere first on streaming? Things are way too early in the process, so we can only speculate at this point. But trust us, to get nearly 600 episodes in the can, we must have been doing a lot of speculating along the way. We have made it to the last Wednesday of November. For many of us, we have a chance to slow down for a few days, rest, watch football, and as always read comic books. For the rest of us, we are beginning the last big retail season of the calendar year. Keep your head above water, stay patient, and make time to read comics. Remember the classic holiday film Miracle on 34th Street? There's a point in the movie, after a suggestion by Kris Kringle, where the Macy's employees start instructing customers to go across the street to Gimbel's to purchase gifts at a better price. At first, management is flabbergasted by the suggestion, but then they realize the goodwill they are building with their customers. We reference this movie because last week, Marvel Unlimited sent out emails to its subscribers promoting DC Universe Infinite. At the same time, DC Universe Infinite sent out emails to its subscribers promoting Marvel Unlimited. Welcome to the fourth WCPE Book Club! Where were you in the summer of 1984, when the Avengers packed their bags and headed out west? This month, we are traveling back to California with Volume 1 of West Coast Avengers! Written by Roger Stern with art by Bob Hall, West Coast Avengers has Hawkeye opening up a new branch of the team in Los Angeles, and recruiting Mockingbird, Iron Man, Tigra, and Wonder Man to join him at the Avengers estate along the coast. Cullen and Jerry each went to a local comic show this last weekend. In Portland, Cullen went to the Frankenstein Comic Swap in Portland on Saturday afternoon. (He was the Portlander cosplaying as a Frog!) Meanwhile, Jerry ventured into mid-Missouri for the COMO Comic Book Show in Columbia. As we recorded the episode this week, New York Comic Con was entering its final day, filled with all kinds of big reveals. Most surprising had to have been the sheer number of announcements coming from DC Comics, which in past years has used San Diego Comic Con as their "home" show to share their upcoming projects. In fact, Marvel Comics seemed to be quiet, but Marvel Studios had a lot to share.  Jerry was travelling this week and was dependent upon the hotel Wi-Fi.
