  • CornerstoneDad Podcast Guest Appearance On Ground Rule Triple Radio

    06/04/2016 Duración: 21min

What an honor and privilege it was to be on my son's podcast. Check it out as we kick it about the Adam LaRoche situation and discuss whether players should be allowed to have their kids in the clubhouse. Dad Hating or Good Call?

  • CSD Podcast #18 - The Tribe and I Give Our Review of the Movie RACE

    16/03/2016 Duración: 45min

Welcome to our kitchen table! Make yourself comfortable, sit-back, gather your thoughts. The kids and I went to the movies to see the movie Race and decided to have a hot mic and let you listen in to one of our fairly typical discussions.  Forgive the noise in the background, as our dining room table is certainly not a sound-proof studio. Having the windows open on a warm day was no help either. The kids made me so proud, as each expressed their own thoughts, aren't afraid to be challenged, but were a bit afraid of the microphone. They made me excited (so forgive my enthusiasm), but I really got comfortable kicking it with them as people, and not children. They did need to learn that silence on the air is a no-no! If  you've seen the movie Race, great. If not, spoiler alerts abound, but I think you know how the story ended.  We teach our children to think critically about all things, most notably the bible, politics, education and especially media. You will hear some of the trigger points that

  • CornstoneDad Podcast - Mixtape #1 Open Letter To J-ICE...(And It's Minivan Friendly)

    21/01/2016 Duración: 46min

After a long time away, I'm finally back with a podcast. But not just any podcast, but a mix to my grandson J-ICE. Old-school hip-hop heads know that bouncing with some hard beats is always a challenge, even with rap pre-1995. My son likes to roll with tunes that were out when he was still in a car seat, and is now facing that challenge when he's rolling with my grandson. I'll post up the playlist pretty soon, but for now, just turn up that bass, grab the kids, grab your bible, and lets ride... CSD

  • CornerstoneDad Podcast #15 - Reggie's First Sermon: The Sin Line

    30/08/2015 Duración: 11min

As we wrap up our time here in our area, our days of going to the mission in our city are coming to an end. My boys have spent much time there and I've been asking my 16 year old for about a year if he ever wanted to speak. Praise God, this time, he said he was ready, and you can listen to the message HERE. So many times we get more excited about our kid's sports achievement, than we do about their spiritual lives. However, lets tell the truth, we get excited about how fast they run, hit, throw, swim, etc., because of the pride it brings us and the possibility of riches. We forget about Matthew 6:21:For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also and Ecclesiastes 5:10: Whoever loves money never has enough;    whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income.    This too is meaningless..    Yes indeed, it is truly meaningless. It would be much more difficult for our children to follow Christ making $10M per year and fame than $35K per ye

    22/02/2015 Duración: 13min

I wanted to repost some of our old Mission Men episodes. As we remember the passing of our Brother Rob, perhaps no other episode captures his essence more than this one. Rob is our host this episode, and is running the team like a point guard. Please check it out.

  • CornerstoneDad Bible Family Reading Podcast #8 – Joshua 1

    07/05/2014 Duración: 09min

Joshua Chapter One Now God is saying, "Look keep the law, don't deviate from it, for it is by this observing it day and night, meditating in it, thus thou shalt make thy way prosperous, thus you will have good success." As we turn to the first Psalm, we read, "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law does he meditate both day and night, he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth fruit in his season, his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper"(Psalm 1:1-3). People looking for prosperity, people who are looking for success, God has given you the rules. Meditate in it, observe it, and thus shalt thou make thy way prosperous, for these are the rules to prosperity. These are the rules to success. So the conditions upon which he can know the power, the presence, the victory. Source: Chuck Smith - http:

  • CornerstoneDad Bible Family Reading Podcast #7 – Proverbs 1

    30/04/2014 Duración: 07min

Proverbs Chapter 1 The title in the Hebrew Bible is “The Proverbs of Solomon“ (1:1), as also in the Greek Septuagint (LXX). Proverbs pulls together the most important 513 of the over 3,000 proverbs pondered by Solomon (1 Kin. 4:32; Eccl. 12:9), along with some proverbs of others whom Solomon likely influenced. The word “proverb” means “to be like,” thus Proverbs is a book of comparisons between common, concrete images and life’s most profound truths. Proverbs are simple, moral statements (or illustrations) that highlight and teach fundamental realities about life. Solomon sought God’s wisdom (2 Chr. 1:8–12) and offered “pithy sayings” designed to make men contemplate 1) the fear of God and 2) living by His wisdom (1:7; 9:10). The sum of this wisdom is personified in the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 1:30). Source: Grace To You - http://www.gty.org/resources/bible-introductions/MSB20/proverbs

  • CornerstoneDad Bible Family Reading Podcast #6 - Psalm 1

    17/04/2014 Duración: 04min

" TITLE. This Psalm may be regarded as THE PREFACE PSALM, having in it a notification of the contents of the entire Book. It is the psalmists's desire to teach us the way to blessedness, and to warn us of the sure destruction of sinners. This, then, is the matter of the first Psalm, which may be looked upon, in some respects, as the text upon which the whole of the Psalms make up a divine sermon. DIVISION. This Psalm consists of two parts: in the first (from verse 1 to the end of the 3rd) David sets out wherein the felicity and blessedness of a godly man consisteth, what his exercises are, and what blessings he shall receive from the Lord. In the second part (from verse 4 to the end) he contrasts the state and character of the ungodly, reveals the future, and describes, in telling language, his ultimate doom." • CornerstoneDad Bible Family Reading Podcast #4: 1 Thessalonians 1

    20/02/2014 Duración: 06min

Today, Big Homie leads us today with a reading of Paul's letter to the church in Thessalonica.  Did you know: Purpose & Background Church established by Paul; Paul forced to leave quickly Some Thessalonians questioning Paul’s credentials.  Others worried about dying before Jesus returns. …fierce persecution arose and the believers smuggled Paul out of the city in the night.  Because Paul left abruptly and without having spent much time among them, he had never finished teaching the basic matters of Christianity, and the church’s foundations were not complete and solid.  Several strange problems had grown up after his premature departure.  Apparently, some individuals in Thessalonica opposed this new religion by accusing Paul of being a money-grubbing self-promoter.  As soon as circumstances became difficult, they said, he snuck out of town.  There were also doctrinal difficulties.  Chiefly, The Thessalonians worried that if a Christ

  • CornerstoneDad Bible Family Reading #1: Genesis 1_Final.mp3

    19/01/2014 Duración: 06min

Did you ever think about how your life would change if you had no vision? I'm not talking about vision as in psychological direction. I'm talking about physical vision. This is a reality that my mother is facing as numerous eye surgeries are slowly taking away her once eagle-eye vision. This morning on the way to church, we were listening to a podcast where a guy was describing a bible-reading dramatisation that he had created. The thought then came to me (or should I say the Lord gave me the thought?) to make something like this for my parents, as the day may come when my parents may not be able to read scripture on their own. Surely the bible is available in many different forms today, but why not make something personal just for them? So today, with no delay, is the first recording. None will be perfect I'm sure, but I want to get this project started. It took J. Vernon McGee at least five years t go through the bible, but what he has done has lived and bless us long after his death and that is what we set

  • CornerstoneDad Podcast Episode #13 - Is Purity A Realistic or Idealistic Goal For Kids Today? Panel Discussion With The Family

    03/08/2013 Duración: 20min

This Is It! This podcast is guaranteed to make my “Best of” show one day! I’m finally pleased to post part one of this terrific hot-mic discussion that I had with my wife, mother, sister, son, and his friend. Folks, this is our family and this is how we often talk when we get together, so consider it a “reality-show podcast”. This is part one of our discussion, so in this episode we discuss: Is purity even a realistic goal for young people to have in today’s society? Is the current generation less pure than the baby-boomer generation? Do women really give thought to the kind of father that they want for their children before laying down with a man? Warning: Parental discretion is advised. I understand that some may not have talked to their children about sex or many of the subjects that we are going to discuss. Therefore, listen first, and determine if it’s age appropriate for your family.  Your feedback is appreciated, so hit me up in the comment section or at

  • Seek Ye First The Kingdom Of God - April 2013 Mission Men Message by Dion

    09/05/2013 Duración: 19min

It's been a while since we've had the opportunity to post and record a message from New Life Rescue Mission. But last month we got back on track with our man Dion coming through with his digital recorder.  Please check out this fantastic message titled: Seek Ye First The Kingdom of God.  This is not an easy message to stand up and give to a bunch of men who have no home. You're telling them to seek God and His righteousness instead of a home, money, and food? Well, that's what God said in Dion's main text: Matthew 6:19-34  Lay Up Treasures in Heaven 19“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and ruste destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22“The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, 23but i

He’s truly setting the bar high for the men that he comes in contact with, but what would your answer be to this all important question?
