We are back with a look at Steven Spielberg 32nd film, Ready Player One. A effects heavy adventure film that came out in the Easter holidays this year. With more hidden Easter eggs than the easter bunnies closet this film has film lovers foaming at the mouth. As well as these extras we also take a look at how this film could very easily mimic our society and how we might be looking into our future. After that we take a look at a series that was released on YouTube Red of all places and is set thirty years after the events of the first Karate Kid movie. This series is called Cobra Kai and features a lot of the same cast from the original film. Quite a few 80's throwbacks in this episode. Enjoy!

We bring you another one our favourites and a classic film from 1983, War Games starring Matthew Broderick. A film that we believe to be completely ahead of its time and even though appears to be a film of its time, still very poignant today. Go and check the film, and then come back and check us. Enjoy!

Welcome back movie fans, returning this week with a review on Black Panther. The film that shook the world back in Febuary and smashed a ton of records and has quite possibly re-shaped many films in the future. We take a look at the casting of this film as well as the not one great villain, but two great villains. Behind the glossy production design of Wakanda we also delve into the James Bond style technology and Q-type gadgets gifted to us by Shuri. After our chat about Black Panther, we also take a look at the feud taking place in a current American TV show and why it seems that many other TV shows are dropping like flies. Lots to get through. We return this week to take a look the musical film, The Greatest Showman which came out on Boxing Day here in the UK and has been a confident and persistent presence in movie theatres since then. This week we see it released onto Blu-Ray and DVD and it is expected to break even more records. With an insanely catchy soundtrack and a fantastic cast, we take a look at what made audiences return again and again to see this magical film. It's the movie event of the year and with Avengers Infinity War looking to smash all records, here is our take on huge sci-fi, comic book journey, Infinity War. We are lucky to be joined by Danny Buckler who is a professional comedian but also an expert and huge fan of all things comic book. This was a really fun one to record and we hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed recording it. We have delved into a film thats a little different from our usual podcast offering. WE decided to take a look at Darkest Hour released at the end of last year which saw Gary Oldman to go on and win his first Oscar for best actor for portraying Winston Churchill in this gritty, political drama about the first few months of Churchill in office as Prime Minister. This was a wonderful film and nice to see something a bit different on our screens that can still be very poignant today. Enjoy! With the season finale of The Walking Dead season 8 airing last night, we thought we would do a quick summary of what we liked and dislike of the latest series of the much loved zombie TV-series. This series has not resonated as well with audiences as previous series and we take a look as to why that may be. We also have a discussion about what we might come to expect in series 9. Well for this week we attempt to unravel Valerian, and you can probably tell by our opening that we are now fans of this film. We felt like it was a few wasted opportunities. We return this week to take a look at a little un-noticed gem that was released quietly onto Netflix and we think deserves a little praise. This week we look at The Cloverfield Paradox, which is the third instalment of the Cloverfield series of films. This is a series that we have grown to love quite a bit after the phenomenal 10 Cloverfield Lane a couple of years ago. It looks to be that Netflix has taken the reigns of these films now so we are hopeful for more wonderful things to come in the future. In this instalment, it is the first one set in space and a ship gets caught up in a multiverse blackhole which causes chaos around the ship. With a fantastic cast and brilliant production design we discuss at length what makes these films surprise us time and time again. In this weeks episode we bring you something a little different for us at BTTP. We take a look at the little bear that everybody is talking about and is arguably one of the best British films of 2017. We are of course talking about Paddington 2. Follow up to the 2014 film Paddington where we meet the Brown family and first see the CGI bear voiced by Ben Whishaw. The sequel sees an all star cast show their love for the bear and we discuss just why this film has had such a success. We return with a look at possibly one of the most loved and popular TV series to grace our screens and streaming devices in recent years, Stranger Things. With two series now available on Netflix we dive into everything available so far so full spoilers ahead. But we chat openly about the youth within the casting and the production design choices. And obviously, it wouldn't be one of our podcasts if we didn't take a look at the many MANY references from much loved 80s films and TV and how the surfaced an appearance throughout the two series. It is with great excitement that we bring you another one of our favourite classic film episodes, and this week we have picked one of the best and possibly one our favourite films ever. 1980's The Blues Brothers directed by John Landis and starring too many people to list here. We chat about why this film is still one of the best loved musical comedies after nearly 40 years. We have fun remembering the musical numbers and cameos from so many stars of the time. With a surprising film for us to take a look at, this week we have a look at the mesmerising The Shape Of Water directed by visual genius, Guillermo Del Toro. With this film receiving the most nominations for this years Oscars, we thought we had to take a look. With a primary plot of a love story between a working class lady and a unknown creature, this was enough of a story to keep us entertained but had some wonderful underpinned secondary plots and one of the best villains we've seen in a while. We hope by now that you have downloaded and listened to our special awards podcast which was released last week. As this is a collaborative podcast that we do with our friends, Blokebusters Podcast who join us from the States, we often say that some of the more interesting chats we have is the preparation we do to plan the awards podcast before we officially start recording. Once again we are joined by our good friends across the pond, Blokebusters Podcast and to all of our surprise, this is our 5th year hosting our silly little award show. As with all previous years, we talk about who we believe to be the best actor and actress of the year along with our views on the films that best use special effects and best minimal use of special effects. In a new episode it's once again, Byron vs the world. Or certainly a large percentage of the world. Occasionally a film comes out that a great deal of people love and the films seems to do very well indeed but Byron is there in the background shaking his head disapprovingly. This is one of those moments. We discuss at length what some people think worked about the latest edition in the Thor trilogy and look at where somethings might not have been as well received by others. In today's episode we take a look at the third instalment of the recent Planet Of The Apes trilogy, War For The Planet Of The Apes. The offering is a visually stunning masterpiece that has a new darker undertone than the first two, so we take some time to delve into the visual and production details of this. We also spend some time to look at the other two in this current trilogy and look back at the references to the old series of films. Happy new year to all! We are back with our first (hopefully first of many) podcast of 2018. In this episode we take a look at the remake of Stephen Kings IT that came out in the Autumn of 2017. Featuring the terrifying Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise the clown and enough talented youngsters to put Hogwarts to shame. There wasn't much about this film we didn't like, so we had plenty to chat about from the portrayal of the characters and the production design. We then have a chat about the mid-season finale of the Walking Dead which premiered a couple of weeks ago.
