PREPARE FOR SOMETHING..........Well, you know the rest. This is that episode. I watch something (or try to keep my attention on the flick anyway, but it's kind of rough), while recording my reactions. It's not a group pod, nor is this a proper commentary to the groundbreaking cinematic achievement of the seventh art known as Impractical Jokahs: The Movie. The flick is an hour and 33 minutes long. This is the whittled down watch along of that. I originally recorded for 2 hours, with brief intermissions where I just walked away from the flick. Didn't miss much. This is my 3rd viewing of the flick, as I will explain. I probably won't revisit it for a couple few years. If you want to get technical, I start the movie at 9 minutes and 11 seconds into the pod, if you want to sync up. Hello everybody. This is part two of my introspective and somber look back at the tragic events of August 3, 2019. I took a while to post this because of time constraints with work, distractions, and a bout with some depression and those same ol' black clouds rolling by. Regardless, here is the final half of this two parter, recorded at a second local library.  I look back at the loss of life, the way things are changing in the city after the fact, and pay respects to the dearly departed.  New developments have come out since I first recorded this in September, as it is now late October. Not a regular upbeat or disjointed and jokey episode, this one takes a look at the reality we're now living in this country, and even in this city as a Mexican American in El Paso, TX in 2019. This is just my experience and my take on it. Not much more to say. As most of you know, on the morning of Saturday August 3rd, 2019, a senseless, unspeakable act of violence and Hispanophobia was committed at a Walmart Supercenter here in my hometown of El Paso, TX. Most of you watched the news and saw the horrible tragedy unfurl and become untangled before our eyes. I'm doing a two part episode about the events, not to delve into the shooter or his motives, or to go in depth about the politics or agendas that this brings up. My interest is in telling my personal account of the day as it unfolded, and also to pay respect to all the people who's lives were taken from them that day. This is away to honor them, and their families, even if  didn't know any of the victims on a personal level. I am dedicating two episodes to this incident, not out of sensationalism, but because I love my home town. I love EL PASO, in my own unique way.
