A casting call was recently posted on Backstage, a website for actors and technicians, for a small ensemble play in New York City. Under the "rehearsal" heading, the call stated that white actors cast in the show would participate in a mandatory "anti-racism training" session. Trump's administration is asking a federal appeals court to strike down the entire health care law. The president vowed on Tuesday to make the GOP the "party of health care" and told Senate Republicans to lean into their own agenda on the issue as they head into next year's election. President Trump has been fighting to get control of our southern border for two years now. Every step of the way he has fought against obstruction by the Democrats, the media, and Republicans who are either just as “progressive” as the left or too spineless to stand up against the bullying tactics of the left (calling them racist, bigot, etc.,). He called for zero “catch and release” for illegal migrants caught by BPS, but the separation of minors from adults (the continuation of a pre-existing policy) drew heavy criticism. He stopped the separation policy, which lead to the minors being held with adults who remained in custody; which also drew heavy criticism and has now brought a return to the “catch and release” policy to a limited basis. With the battle for the Democratic nomination for the Presidential race in 2020 well underway and a large field that keeps growing many candidates are already struggling to stand out in the crowded competition. Many of them are racing as far left as they can to woo a base that can give them the nomination. One thing is clear to those of us of faith. None of them (so far) are talking about God. In the state of Colorado a battle of gun rights has been brewing as House Bill 1177 (Extreme Risk Protection Orders) moves towards the Governor's desk. If the bill becomes law it would allow family members or law enforcement to petition a judge to issue a temporary extreme risk protection order for a person thought to be a threat, after which that person’s weapons could be seized for up to a year. Several Colorado jurisdictions have passed resolutions denouncing the bill. Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser in response to those resolutions issued a statement telling local law enforcement that they swore an “oath to uphold the rule of law”. Lesley Hollywood, Founder of Rally for our Rights, will join me to discuss the issue and the group's efforts to defend Second Amendment rights in Colorado. Don't forget about the Edwards Notebook and the Veteran's Tip of the Day!
