Most of you remember the news story about the Oregon ranchers Dwight and Steven Hammond. They lost their grazing permit for the ranch back in 2014. The Bureau of Land Management denied their application after the ranchers were convicted of arson in 2012, which they both served prison time and paid a sizable fine. In 2018 President Trump issued a full pardon of the Hammonds. Recently, three environmental groups filed lawsuits against the BLM to block the renewal of a grazing permit to the Hammond ranch. Seventy percent of Democrats say “some form of socialism” would be a “good thing” for the U.S., according to a new Gallup survey. Actor Jeff Daniels painted supporters of President Donald Trump and a “wing” of the Republican Party as racists and warned that the re-election of President Trump would be “the end of democracy.” Pro-life advocate and NFL star Benjamin Watson took Alyssa Milano to task over her claim that laws restricting abortion would be “catastrophic” for black women. Federal immigration officers working on the U.S.-Mexico border will start carrying out rapid DNA tests on immigrants in custody who claim to be related. The Violence Against Women Act is up for reauthorization in 2019. This reauthorization needs to be based on the latest surveys and scientific research. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control conducts an annual survey called the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS). The Florida House of Representatives passed a bill that would ban sanctuary cities and require local law enforcement agents to cooperate with federal immigration authorities such as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The Republican National Committee released a brutal ad slamming socialist Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris over their stances on letting convicted terrorists vote while they are in prison. The video features news coverage of the tragic Boston Marathon Bombing and shows a picture of the Islamic terrorist who committed the attack, saying: "Democrats believe this terrorist should be allowed to vote from prison." Former CNN contributor Symone Sanders does not want white people leading the Democrat Party. A 20-year-old college student in upstate New York reported an Uber driver for refusing to take her to get an abortion. The driver was fired but the student is done with the driver just yet. The Associated Press is reporting that journalists traveling alongside the caravan witnessed hundreds of migrants at the "tail end" of the 3,000-person group being detained and arrested by Mexican immigration officials, "wrestling migrants into police vehicles for transport and presumably deportation."
