Luke Schneider represents a radical new approach to the versatile sounds of the steel guitar, a total reinvention of an iconic instrument. 26/05/2022 Duración: 03h00sWe have lost two of the most influential composers in the electronic music scene in just over three weeks. Klaus Schulze & Vangelis both had music careers spanning over 50 years. I had the privilege of seeing both musicians performing, only once for Vangelis at the Royal Albert Hall in 1976, supporting his first album for RCA, Heaven & Hell. Klaus Schulze as many of you know was a member of Tangerine Dream, Ash Ra Tempel & Cosmic Jokers before departing on a solo career with a prolific output of over 100 albums. Greek composer Vangelis was best known for his epic soundtracks to Blade Runner, Chariots Of Fire & more, renowned for harnessing experimental electronic sounds from Avante -Garde to Symphonic, a "one man quasi-classical orchestra" composing and performing on the first take. As we take our journey into this latest edition, let’s reflect with sadness on the power & majestic sounds these two incredible musicians have given us over many decades., R.I.P. 09/05/2022 Duración: 02h59minNot one but eleven new faces to Sequences, including Karmacosmic, made up of four musicians, Rüdiger Gleisberg & Mathias Grassow, well known in this genre for over 40 years with Carsten Agthe & Dirk Schlömer, a musical journey to distant worlds, ambient pads meet spacey sounds and ethnic rhythms. Per Thomhav is Synth Replicants, a musician, composer, and producer whose music is influenced by Tangerine Dream, Jean-Michel Jarre, and Vangelis. The theme of 'Kshatriy' is based on drone style with ambient and noise elements, with no specific frames and accept any necessary sound sources ...with a delicate touch. American trio Dawn Chorus And The Infallible Sea, consists of zakè, Marc Ertel and Damien Duque. Together they're creating soft-textured and slowly unfolding sonic landscapes. It's been over four years since there was no new music from Ulrich Schnauss & Jonas Munk. This time around, the duo heads in a slightly different direction. Sequences Podcast No 210: The Fourth E.M.M.A. Festival, Derby 1997
03/05/2022 Duración: 01h59minEmma was formed in 1994 by a team of fans and musicians who gathered together to create an organisation promoting electronic music in the UK, producing a regular newsletter and holding yearly festivals. 1994 saw two festivals in Derby, England, the first showcasing the best UK acts inc, John Dyson, Andy Pickford, Ian Boddy and Mark Shreeve. The second saw a more international lineup inc. Jonn Serrie (USA) & TK (Germany) both were very successful events. In 1995 the venue was switched to Sheffield. Again, the show had an international flavour with the highlight of two of our most successful artists, Ian Boddy & Andy Pickford, headlining. After those successful festivals, we were looking forward to more years devoted to EMMA, unfortunately, after some heated exchanges during our monthly meetings, with many leaving, left the remaining members said they could not carry on. Sequences editorial staff who were part of that team decided to go it alone with the EMMA name. Hence two years later, in 1997, the fourth E

13/04/2022 Duración: 02h59minThe adventure continues now, coming into the Easter break, with some of the latest releases in our world of electronic music. Steve Roach & Jeffrey Fayman’s 2002 album Trance Spirits remastered, orchestrating a thunderous sound, with an expansive array of synthetic soundworlds, textural guitar and timbre-rich Middle Eastern and West African-influenced drumming. Composed over ten years by David Helpling with guest musicians comes the double album IN, exploring the magic of space with its cinematic overtones that ascend to shattering crescendos. Enter London-based trio, Decommissioned Forests, an ambient-infused, post-industrial journey through uneasy electronica, accompanied by a sometimes bleak, sometimes hopeful spoken-word narration. Russian artist Non Dolet, Slavic folk-tinged melancholy, and pseudo film soundtrack infused beauty of a most original sounding nature. Once again, Divine Matrix and Johan Tronstam’s quality of music recalls the classic 80’s style of Tangerine Dream and other luminaries of the g

29/03/2022 Duración: 03h24sAnother collection that’s seen more ambient, ethereal, atmospheric music for our second March edition. Always eager to hear a new album from Steve Jolliffe; like the last few releases, just one track of changing structures & sounds. New faces to grace our airways are Elinch from German, a modular synthesist whose calm, slow-moving sound canvases develop into minimalist ambient epics. Female artist Allegorist has been meandering through stories with her purposeful and introspective take on electronic music, with London-based musician and filmmaker going under the name of Blessed Are The Hearts That Bend has a soundtrack to a non-existent film; listeners can create the movie in their head as the album washes over you, a film without pictures. It was totally unexpected to hear about the recent passing of Thomas Fanger, a significant player as a solo artist & with his collaboration with Manikin musician & label owner Mario Schonwalder & friends over the last couple of decades. As we sadly say farewell to Thomas,

15/03/2022 Duración: 02h59minOver the last month, we’ve had very little in the way of Berlin School & the more uptempo electronic genre, giving way to a large number of promos heading our way carrying the musical styles of modular, symphonic, neoclassical & diverse selection of ambient sounds. Once again, introducing new exciting artists in many fields, fifteen in total. It’s been a while since we played some vintage sounds, from the late 90s into the new decade are two tracks from the group influenced by Kraftwerk, Elektronische-Maschine. To celebrate the music of the first 25 years, Timescape have a series of compilations released with Instrumental vocal and ambient highlights, with a track from their new EP “The Endless Journey” recorded in 2021, opening this edition. You know what to expect, sounds to please the ears and heart. Most of the artists you recognise here preview their new albums and tunes for the first time on Sequences. Just three newcomers: from Austria, Johannes Winkler's debut album ‘Vogelperspektive’, the former pilot takes us on a journey through soundscapes and ambient structures inspired by a legacy of airborne perspectives. The synth sisters Mareena & JakoJako, two talented musicians and friends, embark on a joyful voyage through sound, fully immersed in an all captivating wall of sound, and finally, a bit of a mystery, translated from Chinese, Cipher Zero, on a label of underground music based in China. We dive straight into the second album by Holland Holmes on Spotted Peccary. We welcome three new comers to Sequences, Sarah Davachi with ambient drone on an epic scale, ethereal & expansive. The slow melody & harmonies of Chrys Bodcast space journey, & the band Bodhiheart, 4 highly respected musicians who have performed & recorded with some of the greats in various genres. Sequences Podcast No 202 (Extended Edition)
19/12/2021 Duración: 04h02minSequences Podcast No 202 (extended edition) This is our last podcast for this year, with some great music to finish it off with. It’s certainly been another 12 months of never-ending constant media attention, fear & panic about the pandemic. As we all were looking forward to the Christmas holidays, now comes the rhetoric of a new variant. Here we go again more lockdowns, mandatory jabs & for the unvaccinated especially in my home state Queensland, locked out of many pleasures in life of going to pubs, cinemas, festivals, gyms, clubs, etc. On a lighter note music has certainly taken away some of the stress we’ve endured over the last 12 months. It’s been another year for us of countless new artists appearing on Sequences with 15 new names to finish off within our extended 4-hour show. Abraham Fogg begins our last journey of the year with a powerful & dynamic blend of electronica, techno & chamber music. .Sequences Podcast No 202 01.58 Abraham Fogg ‘The Ceremony’ (album Blakulla) www.abrahamfogg.com 06.16

This is the first of two editions for December with the second one another extra hour added to accommodate the large number of promos submitted over the last six weeks. Just a few new names to add to the long list of musicians & bands we’ve introduced over the last 9 years of podcasting. A deeply intimate exploration into downtempo realms on Over The Moon from the dynamic producer Keerd, thoughtfully constructed, melodic and alternating between ambient and sophisticated beat-driven explorations. Sequences 200th Special Edition Podcast
16/11/2021 Duración: 04h09minTwo hundred, not out! Sounds like a cricket score but in fact, it’s a measure of the achievement of Mick Garlick in publishing ‘Sequences’. Initially, an audio cassette, then a magazine/CD, and now a podcast. Sequences magazines were compiled by Mick with reviews and interviews by several other contributors, all edited by Mick into a cohesive look at contemporary and vintage Electronic Music. One of the main contributors in the early days of Sequences was Carl Jenkinson, who has reprised his role for this special 200th issue and prepared a look back at some of the people and events he recalls from the time he spent with Mick the ED): to be found on our Podcast web page with messages from several musicians Mick has known over zillions!!! of years, 31 tracks kindly submitted by familiar names in the scene, many of them especially composed for this edition.
