snacktime - chelsea gray (ft. davelybob) @ the way out club 7.14.2017
31/12/2022 Duración: 15minif you're the type to look back and contemplate at this particular time of year, here's a look back at a contemplative drone set from our archive. guitarist chelsea gray was probably the hottest ticket in the STL experimental scene back in the summer of 2017, after crushing an absolutely stunning debut set at way out weirdo wednesday #18. she's been on extended sabbatical exploring other interests and investing in her young family for quite some time, but she has assured us on numerous occasions that she's not done yet. for this set she composed two short bowed pieces, and then brought up your dude davelybob to moog up a duo improvisation. also on the bill that night was st. michael, honeydew, and particle devotion all the way from baton rouge. goooooood times.

snacktime - pop grunge song
17/09/2022 Duración: 04minOur feed has been a bit dry lately. Here is a little something to moisten the membrane. I made this one many moons ago. Up to this point, I had been mostly recording songs on my Tascam 424 mkii. This was the first song I made using a DAW. It's just me fiddling with some guitar, bass, drums, and some shakers; but this track has a special place in my pterodactyl heart. I don't think this song is out there anywhere, but Davelybob slipped part of the ending into an early episode. The saga continues.. Your pal, chad

snacktime - death’s dynamic shroud ”neon memories”
04/06/2022 Duración: 04mindeath's dynamic shroud is a collaborative project between James Webster (also known as HCMJ), Tech Honors and Keith Rankin (aka Giant Claw, also label boss at Orange Milk Records, who just released the new record from our pal Problems- more on that later). death's dynamic shroud typically samples video game soundtracks in a mixtape-style format, oftentimes with special distortions and modifications made as a result of being bounced off analog recordings. Since Keith joined up, they have explore a much more high-fidelity, experimental sound (including sampling of anime soundtracks and k-pop), developing a distinct sound and visual aesthetic they personally refer to as "NUWRLD". You can see death's dynamic shroud on tour with Small Black, hitting STL ummmmmm TONIGHT at Off Broadway, presented by that fine purveyor of warm fuzzy musical events, VaporspaceSTL. Should have got this up before, but things regularly sneak up on us and you're not really surprised, are you? Ope, indeed. Here you go, give a liste

snacktime - modo - stocking stuffer
24/12/2020 Duración: 02minModo & Semidubs link up again for a different take on a Christmas inspired song. Sampling "It's beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" by Bing Crosby, Stocking Stuffer compiles elements of trap style. Sean “Modo” Jones is a rapper whose eclectic lyrical content and production sets him apart from his peers. Branching out and swerving lanes is far from taboo in Modo’s world, in fact it is just part of the process. His method of utilizing multiple genres to acquiesce the expansion of his expression is the sign of a true artist. Modo’s engineering talents allow him to create every aspect of his music and shows the true skill level and dedication to his craft. His goal of leaving a positive impact and helping to further the genre has led him to constitute new opportunities for not only himself but other artists as well. https://m.soundcloud.com/modomusic94

snacktime - hxxs @ davelybob's virtual birthday show
02/10/2020 Duración: 15minif it wasn't totally obvious, the pp staff have had a bit of a love affair with hxxs the last couple years. currently residing in kansas city, brad played a show with them in denver and then sent them to davelybob for booking in STL. practically overnight they became the touring band he brought to town the most in his 19 years as a promoter. when dave says he is 99% retired from booking activities, that remaining 1% is reserved for hxxs and very few others. dave was super stoked that gavin and jeannie and their sometimes-drummer ricky were down to play his birthday show, and very pleased to share their set with you now. we shan't try to describe their music, it is beyond words, and beyond belief. those who have heard the recordings know what's up. those who have seen them live are *obsessed*. to say these songs are powerful is an understatement, "these songs could start a cult if they wanted to" is more like it. on top of all that they're also the nicest, kindest, just best people. In a logical world, t

snacktime - buddhist regret @way out weirdo wednesday #42
02/10/2020 Duración: 45mindavelybob started booking shows 19 years ago in the stlpunk scene. years later his first gigs as a performer were sitting in with catholic guilt as part of a rather lengthy list of rotating musicians supplementing the core trio of sean burk, joe stein, and nick zengerling (who dave knew from booking his old band krafted in korea). fast forward over a decade of reigning as one of STL's most celebrated and perverse noise units, and catholic guilt has been in an extended hiatus pretty much since releasing their box set & dvd board game a couple years ago (you heard me), further deepened by sean moving to california. they are not dead though, merely sleeping anyways, the writing had been on the wall for davelybob, and anticipating winding down most of his booking activities, he wanted nothing more than to blast the way out club with his homies one last time, so he lassoed joe and zeng for this monster of a set. it didn't seem right using the catholic guilt name without sean, hence the tongue in cheek monik

snacktime - ali naeini @ davelybob's virtual birthday party
02/10/2020 Duración: 11mintwo years ago on his birthday, davelybob unexpectedly had to put down his dog after a sudden turn in health. last year on his birthday (the big four oh), he was at the hospital with his wife, who was recovering from brain surgery. this year covid quarantine began just a week or so before his birthday. determined to make some goddamn lemonade, he booked himself a birthday concert with some of his favorite acts nationwide on facebook live, one of the very first online fests to pop up during the pandemic. if you didn't catch ali naeini playing his santoor (persian hammered dulcimer) when he lived in st louis, well that's your bad, dumbass- we tried to tell you! he was already a regular performer at festival of nations when he befriended davelybob at their day job. We quickly booked him on a way out weirdo wednesday, and everyone went wild for him. collaborations with percussionists drew gowran and alberto patino followed, and prior to his move to san francisco, he was toying with ideas for a fusion band bl
