  • "Simplicity Nov 1st 2020

    01/11/2020 Duración: 36min

Our big theme is SIMPLICITY.  As I think back, I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone say, “I wish my life was more complicated.”  Simplicity in the Bible is about singular focus and learning to avoid the distractions that are all around us.  Let’s learn together how to simplify our inner lives and also our outer lives.  Let me leave you with a good question to prepare your heart for Sunday… “Is Jesus enough for you?”  I hope that will get your wheels turning.visit us at: conejochurch.com

Hi Conejo Church family!  I have been thinking about you and praying for you this past week, that you would experience the nearness and purpose of Jesus in your lives…I’m excited about the series we are in on “Spiritual Coping Skills”.  Henri Nouwen said these disciplines create space in which God can act in our lives. • Spiritual Coping Skills" Oct, 4 2020

    04/10/2020 Duración: 42min

Did you know that Bible reading is down significantly during this COVID season?  It is hard to believe that during this time when we most need God’s input, peace, wisdom, and nearness, many of us are not taking advantage of the gift of God’s Word.Let’s talk practically on Sunday about WHY we avoid it, HOW we can change that, and WHAT to do to make our time in The Word rich and fulfilling… visit us at: conejochurch.com

    20/07/2020 Duración: 31min

A WORD FROM KIRKHi Conejo Church family.  I pray for you every day, that you are becoming who Jesus created you to be!  Often that growth happens best in challenging times.  We certainly are having those!  Please pray for me and for our leaders, that God would continue to give us wisdom and courage to lead the Conejo body through this season. This coming Sunday, July 19, our own John Barbour will be preaching from James.  His topic is from James chapter 2, which is all about how our faith is shown in ACTION.  This will not be a guilt trip week for all of us to go do more.  Instead, John and I were talking this week about how Jesus invites each of us into friendship and relationship with Him.  That close relationship results in changes not just in our thoughts but in our actions as well… Please read ahead this week if you are able to (James 2:14-26).visit us at: conejochurch.com

  • 3-8-2020 Sermon: Last Chapter of Acts.

    08/03/2020 Duración: 39min

I can’t wait for this Sunday!  We are finally in the last chapter of Acts and we are ready to wrap up our series.  I hope you have enjoyed this journey half as much as I have.   If you want to read ahead, check out what happens in Acts 28.  St. Paul changed the world for Jesus and wrote half of our New Testament.  Why would God want this wonderful leader to spend his last few years on earth in prison, chained to a guard?  This is the prison where Paul writes Philippians, which has so MUCH to say about JOY.   This is also the place where the last verse of Acts says Paul proclaimed the Kingdom and Jesus “without any hindrance.” What was his secret?  How could he be so “unchained” while in his chains?  What can we learn about the things that hinder each of us, especially from sharing the Good News of Jesus with others?  visit us at: conejochurch.com

    09/02/2020 Duración: 47min

Do you find it difficult to hear and interpret what The Holy Spirit is saying?  How do you know if you should go for it when His leading seems dangerous or impossible?  What do you do when your Christian friends say to play it safe but you sense God leading you another way?  Paul faced these same challenges and we can learn from his experiences. This Sunday, we will spend time learning how to listen to The Lord for ourselves and also on behalf of others.  If you want to get a head start, check out Acts 21:1-16.  Did you know that St. Paul said, “Don’t go breaking my heart” long before Elton John did?visit us at: conejochurch.com
