This is Fr. Riccardo's homily from the Mass of the Holy Spirit celebrated at the start of the new school year.

While considering the gospel reading from St. Luke, Fr. Riccardo asks the congregation, "What does in mean to be a Christian?"  Fr. John suggests the congregation ask Our Lady of Good Counsel to pray that we might have a greater experience of the Lord.

While reflecting on the readings for this day, Fr. Riccardo asks, "What does it mean to be humble?"

This is Fr. Riccardo's homily from the Mass for the Northwest Wayne County Vicariate teachers and administrators.

On August 26th, Fr. Riccardo addressed an assembly of teachers and administrators from the Northwest Wayne Vicariate of the Archdiocese of Detroit on the topic of Catholic Identity. 

In this homily for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary from the 10 AM Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Fr. Riccardo reflects on the dignity and destiny of every human.  Fr. John reminds the congregation that their bodies were made to be glorified by God, and encourages them to treat every person who comes into their lives with respect, reverence, and awe.

While reflecting on the gospel reading from St. Luke, Fr. Riccardo encourages the congregation to ask God for the gift of the Holy Spirit that they may come to know the Father.

Fr. Riccardo reflects on the words of St. Paul from today's second reading to offer the congregation advice on how to deal with the suffering that we all must endure.  Fr. John reminds us that Christ transformed suffering through the cross, and encourages us to turn our suffering into love by uniting it with Christ's ultimate act of love.

While reflecting on the scripture readings, Fr. Riccardo reminds the congregation that no one is hopeless in the eyes of God.  If we want God to be merciful to us, we must also want Him to be merciful to others.  Fr. John encourages the congregation to show mercy to each other.
