I had completely forgotten that I had recorded this episode. This episode was recorded a few months ago but never put out. The reason for this was Dear and I had decided to be very consistent on putting out a new episode every Sunday. You know me I like to be prepared, I suggested to her that we recorded episode that was not time sensitive and could be put out anytime. Just in case something happened and we couldn't record live one Sunday. The result is this episode. I just listen to it and it is actually pretty good if I say so myself. It's got some really fun stories in it. Don't get mixed up and think that Dear and I got back together when you hear it because you know that it was recorded earlier. On this episode of LOW Johnny and Maria are getting ready to depart from NYC in a few days and awaiting them when they get home is going to be a new vehicle that Johnny’s dad switched out with the Cadillac. Johnny has been turning his counseling homework into blog posts and in response to that some people have left comments. Johnny addresses those comments in this podcast. Maria is working on getting some guests on the show and Johnny says the reason he keeps going with the blog and podcast is to help people. On LOW today Johnny and Maria are in New York City! Then Johnny mentions how he and Maria have been seeing someone for counseling and how it was recommended for them to have fun together. Johnny is really wanting Maria to make the leap and become the full fledged producer of the podcast. Johnny has started doing some online counseling on his own. His counselor is Matthew and so far is really liking it. Some things that were mentioned were stressful situations vs. real world situations and trust building. This episode of LOW begins with Johnny explaining shortly what happened to his burnt hand and briefly mentions that he is releasing old posts that he had taken down previously. Johnny moves on to discuss his experience with primary care doctors and how he has struggled to find a good one since Carleton retired. He finally found one but after two visits got a letter informing him that Dr. Alcocer no longer wanted to see him. Then Johnny recounts how he celebrated New Years with Leo Laporte. As part of the festivities, Leo was raising funds for UNICEF and was auctioning off a bobble head, coffee mug, and voicemail greeting recording on eBay and Johnny won one of each! Today was the Super Bowl and Johnny and Maria saw Katy Perry for the halftime show. Then Johnny wanted to compare Shania Twain’s performance to Katy’s. This episode of LOW starts off by discussing suicide, yes he said it. Johnny has a friend he is nicknaming Weatherford and Weatherford is a girl. The story is her parents were childhood sweethearts and were married for a very long time. Then Weatherford’s mother passed away and her husband, Weatherford’s dad, became depressed and also has some health issues. So, they decide that he is going to go live with Weatherford. While living with Weatherford, the dad decides he no longer wants to live and kills himself because he feels like he is a burden. Johnny deeply relates to those feelings because he feels he is a burden to his dad. Moving on to Johnny’s Aunt Joan. She had always been there for Johnny during his childhood but when Johnny retired from public life they lost contact. This episode of LOW features Johnny reminiscing about his stadium days and what he used to send to do’s to his employees and himself. Dial-to-do was a service where you got your own 800 number and you would call it each time you wanted to send a to-do. Sort of like Siri but in the early ages of technology. There was also Jott after Dial-to-do which is technically the same thing but better. Switching gears to how do you have a reason to keep going in life? This episode of LOW features Johnny and just Johnny hosting the podcast and sharing with everyone what his predictions are for 2015! Ranging from personal aspirations to tech predictions. First up is brand new Apple TV that ties in all other Apple devices. Then the Apple watch follows suit and Johnny thinks this one is a slam dunk! There will be a new Apple Macbook Pro Air, 12 inch display with retina. Johnny is also hoping to get some decent internet. There will be some re-releasing of previous podcasts from when Dear was gone. Dear prediction is he and Dear will stay together and be happy or discontinue. Health will either improve to a better mental and physical health or it will stay the same. Weight, same idea, will either gain weight or lose weight. Determined to have a different LOW website by the end of 2015 and maybe another podcast. Contemplating getting another dog.
