NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #265-266 Chargers +7 over Patriots Chargers/Patriots Over 47 We are tracking the weather in Foxboro and it looks like the really bad weather will start after the football game. San Diego is rolling right now and looking to take advantage of a Patriots Defense that was exposed early on and now injuries will expose them once again. This team is banged up on all three levels of the defense and really will miss Donta Hightower being on the sidelines for the rest of the season. San Diego has the most accurate QB in the last decade and this team is as hot as anybody right now. New England has their own offensive weapons and it’s hard to believe they will get shut down at home, but San Diego does have the defense to keep them in this game for four quarters. I would not be shocked to see the upset. Take the Chargers and the Over.

NCAAF 9:30 PM EST Rotation #199-200 Washington State -2.5 over Arizona Washington State is a great team that had a head scratching loss two weeks ago to Cal, but came back with a shutout win last week. This team is stacked with multiple receivers and running backs and one of the best QB’s the PAC 12 has seen in Luke Falk. Arizona is a one trick pony, but very good at what they do which is running the football. Washington State has the speed to slow down the run and are more prone to losing to a team that can sling the ball up and down the field. That is not the case today. If Arizona gets behind to this quick strike Cougar Offense they won’t be able to catch up. Arizona is a very young team with 27 freshman on the roster and I just don’t see them being balanced enough on offense to beating a team like this. Take Washington State.

NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #457-458 Vikings -4 over Ravens Joe Flacco has looked awful this year, but much of it has to with injury. The Ravens don’t have an offensive line that can win at this level on the road. The Ravens lost a guy to retirement right before the season and two starters are on IR. This team doesn’t have that many quality backs and the running game will suffer with Terrance West out of this game. At receiver the Ravens are thin with Wallace and Maclin still not 100 percent. This is an offense that is going to struggle against a great front seven and against great shutdown corners. Baltimore has been vulnerable this year against the run so I do expect Minnesota to move the ball. The Vikings have a few good running backs and Case Keenum has filled in very nicely at quarterback. Baltimore’s offense puts them in a position to turn the ball over which will lead to Minnesota points. Take the Vikings.

NCAAF 8:00 PM EST Rotation #385-386 Arizona -3.5 over CAL CAL was supposed to be one of the bottom feeders of the PAC-12 but have been pretty impressive this year with the few tools they have. This passing defense has held their own against some really good quarterbacks. The problem for CAL is they are facing a heavy run team. Arizona is so good on their offensive line and have so many guys that can run the ball including the quarterback. CAL is not good enough offensively to stay in this football game. Look for the Wildcats to control the clock and score on the ground at will. Take Arizona.

Balfe Report : E161 : Another winning week is in the books as we just missed another weekend sweep. Our winning streak ended at 12 games with the Broncos losing last night. Listen for Bob’s opinion play on the Colts/Titans MNF Game and for his MLB Postseason Pick between the Astros and Yankees.

NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #257-258 Saints -4 over Lions Detroit comes into this game with Matthew Stafford nursing an ankle injury, two offensive linemen on the right side most likely out and on defense a ton of injuries on the front 7.  The Saints are the best defense in the NFL over the last two weeks which is shocking to say.  Drew Brees is a tough QB to beat in his own building and should find his targets today against a banged up Lions Defense.  This turf is not ideal for QB’s that are not 100 percent on their feet.  A big part of Stafford’s game is taking off when routes breakdown.    Take the Saints.

NCAAF 4:00 PM EST Rotation #175-176 Colorado/Oregon State Over 56 Last season Colorado went up and down the field on Oregon State so I don’t see much changing. The Buffs have multiple great running backs, a mobile QB and a ton of receivers. This offense is better than the defense in front of them. Oregon State is getting healthier and they too have a bunch of good backs and a great back in Ryan Nail. This team has a few underrated receivers that should get separation against a CU Secondary that has young players. Both teams should light up the scoreboard today. Take the Over.

NFL 1:00 EST Rotation #465-466 Panthers +2.5 over Lions The Lions came into the season with a lot of guys suspended on the defensive line and a few guys out on the offensive line. This is a team that is beat up big time in the trenches, but the odds makers in Vegas still have them as favorites. The front 7 today for Detroit is really banged up and in my opinion just not of NFL quality. Carolina can run the ball and Cam Newton being a duel threat is going to make it very tough on Detroit to get this team off the football field. This is a perfect example of a game being won in the trenches. Take the Panthers.

NCAAF 3:30 EST Rotation #321-322 Akron -6 over Ball State Ball State lost a lot of defensive talent from their team last year as it showed last week against Western Michigan. On Offense Ball State didn’t return much talent either and they key guys they did return are all out of this game today with injury. James Gilbert is a big part of this running game so without him this team is lost. Riley Neal is out with a leg injury and Corey Lacanaria is out at wide receiver. This team is just hurting badly due to injury and young talent. Akron has a little bit better of an offensive line and more talented skill players in this game. Look for the Zips to get the home win by throwing the ball all over this defense. Take Akron.

Balfe Report : E156 : 4-1 yesterday in the NFL coming off a 2-1 Saturday in College Football. We have now turned a profit in four straight weekends. I can’t wait to start this upcoming week, but we have work left tonight with the Redskins and Chiefs MNF Game. Get on board!

NFL 1:00 EST Rotation #263-264 Bengals -3 over Browns We have all witnesses the Bengals struggles and the head scratching reaction to Marvin Lewis still standing on that sideline after all of these years, but this is a game he simply can’t lose or they will have to let him go. The Browns do not have an experienced defense and I believe the Bengals will get their running game going which will set up the pass. The Browns on offense just don’t have many natural wide receivers on their roster to be able to move the ball up and down the field. I have been impressed with Cleveland, but record wise it is still the same old Browns. Take the Bengals.

NCAAF 7:00 EST Rotation #209-210 Memphis/UCF Over 68 If you look at the cornerbacks for both teams and their backups they combined for 19 total tackles and zero interceptions coming into the season. That is 8 guys combined. There is a chance because of a few injuries for Memphis that not one person on either team have any starts in the secondary from last year. Both offenses are going to have a field day tonight. Both teams have a great running game and multiple targets to pick apart the opposing secondary. Both offensive lines have the talent to protect their QB and I just can’t see this game not being close to over by the end of half time. Take the Over.

Balfe Report : E155 : Bears +7 down the drain in a blink of an eye. Chicago’s coaching staff puts that team in a position to fail before the ball is snapped.
