Mitcz & His Dad

Dad starts off the episode discussing one of his favorite episodes of The Sopranos, then talks about his knowledge of women’s fashion. Mitcz and his Dad get into a brief discussion about welfare and disability payments. Mitcz then relates news about having entered a contest to win a date with Adam Carolla’s “news girl” Alison Rosen, and why he was rejected. Dad thinks Mitcz had a fighting chance had it not been for Adam’s pushing her to reject him, but maintains that Mitcz needs to drop his “weird look” and his life will improve immeasurably.

Mitcz and his Dad briefly discuss the disaster in Japan, but quickly move on to a very optimistic conversation about hopes for the future, technology, and where we’re going as a planetary culture. Surprisingly, the topic stays on-point for most of the episode.

Mitcz and his Dad discuss Dad’s favorite movies that have been released since 1978 (the year Mitcz was born), some of their favorite (and least-favorite) actors, and while yet another religious discussion ensues, Mitcz finally explains what he believes in (Naturalistic Pantheism) and why.

This week, Mitcz & his dad pretty much stick to the topic of modern-day movies and moviemaking, how media has changed, where it might go in the future, and a few sidenotes about the Hollywood Machine. They also make their Oscar predictions.

In this week’s episode, Mitcz & Dad talk about Big Gulp accidents, Thanksgiving, WikiLeaks and the INTERPOL investigation of Julian Assange, Concerts, and perhaps most importantly : Dad gives us a history lesson and inside look into the world of mob-run gambling and bookies.

This was supposed to be a “bonus” episode to make up for Episode 2’s shorter format, but it’s long enough to stand on its own and it could be our best episode yet. In this episode, Mitcz discusses his most recent comedy performance, we discuss comedy in general, Dad gives his “Top 7” TV shows, we get into a lengthy discussion about Dexter and the terrible Miami PD, and there’s some jokes about male anatomy regarding Jim Morrison’s possible posthumous pardon for alleged indecency.

Dad talks about the latest innovation in taco shells, then we move on to a discussion of the Crystal Cathedral closing, followed by a discussion on groups and red/blue states, the media, and celebrity encounters in LA. Mitcz tells a story about a bad joke.
