Xbox held their long awaited Games Showcase last week, with the big focus being on the first gameplay footage of Halo Infinite. To say opinions are split on what would shown seems to be an apt description, and the guys give their thoughts on the newest look at Microsoft's flagship franchise. After being announced only recently, Paper Mario: The Origami King is out in the wild. After 3.5 years since it's initial reveal, and multiple delays in 2020 alone, The Last Of Us Part II is finally here. While critics seem to universally love the game, the general population doesn't seem to be as uniform in their praise. The moment we have all been waiting for finally arrived last Thursday, PlayStation's "The Future of Gaming" event. For over an hour, Sony took everyone on a nonstop ride of next-gen games that had something for every type of gaming fan. For the first time since the next generation of consoles were officially announced, it seems like we finally know the potential of what next gen really means. Unreal Engine 5 was shown off as part of Summer Gamefest, and it looks absolutely... well, Unreal. It also seems like we are getting very close to the PS5 reveal, and Sony continues to remain confident that the system will release later this year. Ghost of Tsushima was finally given a full and detailed demonstration in Sony's latest State of Play, but the guys aren't completely convinced that the game will live up to the hype. Continuing the trend set by Sony with their PS5 deep-dive ASMR session, Xbox hyped up a third party gameplay reveal stream for last week, only to disappoint their audience with the presentation. While there were spatterings of gameplay, the stream mostly centered on CG cutscenes and "in-engine" footage, instead of giving everyone a real look at what Next Gen can deliver. Xbox's marketing arm even admitted that they "clear set some wrong expectations". Even so, the guys go through everything that was shown during the presentation. Nintendo revealed the, unfortunately, final update for Super Mario Maker 2 this past week with a feature that we have all hoped for - the ability to make your own Mario game with the World Maker update!
