1If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Jesus was born and lived a normal life, or at least an inconspicuous life. Then at the right time He appears all of sudden to John the Baptist indicating that He wanted to be Baptized. Agreeing with John’s baptism of repentance. But Jesus needed no repentance but came

17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. 18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. God is like no other according to Isaiah. God is creator, sustainer and redeemer. What is He really like? Let’s see.

1 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. 12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. 13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God. God is so good isn’t He? He’s been so good to all of us. Yes we have bad things happen. But we have to admit many, many more good things than bad! Why is He so good to us?

1 Corinthians 2:14But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ. There is a sinful nature that we all are born with. Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: The nature of man is to sin since the fall of Adam. So we need a change…a major change!

God has put on the heart of King David the desire to build the temple. He tells David that he won’t get to build it because he is a man of war and blood. But his descendant will build it. David who has known the heights and depths of life praises the God is Israel, his uniqueness and

42Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. 43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. 44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. The sad fact is that some people don’t know whose child they really are. Their parents are a mystery do to one reason or another. But spiritually minded you know whose you are. Either you belong to God through faith in Jesus Christ or you belong to the devil. That’s it. There is not neutrality on that.

We used to be called the land of the free and the home of the brave. Today I would say Amercia has a different description. Psalm 88:12 Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness? We are no longer the land of the free but the land of forgetfulness. We have forgotten the men who died to make our nation free. We have forgotten those who gave their lives in the formation of our great nation and constitution. We have forgotten the principles on which we were founded. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. But our biggest problem is that we are a nation that has forgotten God. I would even go as far as to say that we are nation that hates God..the God of the Bible to be specific. America has created a god that they love. He lets everybody into heaven. He does not judge sin. He wants us all to be the same. He will not send anyone to hell. He accepts every religion. It is not the cross of Christ, not the resurrection of Christ, not the grace G

In the previous chapter of Hebrews and the first part of Chapter six the author is scolding the believers for not be able to discern deeper things of the faith because they had not matured enough. They were not growing. It’s like they weren’t taking their faith seriously enough. So the author seeks to stir them up with a warning about going backwards in their faith even falling away into apostasy. So then Hebrews 6:4-9 is about three things… 1. It is very serious to walk away from Christ into apostasy. So serious that no one can convince you to come back. Verses 4-6 2. It is very serious to turn your back on Christ. You can have rewards burned up at the judgment seat of Christ and all your work for Christ here on earth will be destroyed if you do that. Verses 7-8 3. You don’t have to worry about these things if you are truly following Jesus. Verse 9

: If a man ignores the warnings and slips away from the safety and constraints of the railing and the tour group. He goes too far and slips and falls into the raging waters. Now he is heading down the river and about to go over Niagra Falls…he is is a major dilemma. He needs Rescued and fast. His own wandering heart, lack of attention and stupidity has gotten him in trouble. I admire first responders. The firemen, EMT’s, Police, military. They specialize in saving lives. Most of the time they save stupid people. That’s just the facts. People go too far, don’t pay attention or try stupid stunts. It’s funny we pay professional ball players 31 million a year to play with people, and we pay first responders 31,000 a year to save people. We worship ball players and throw rocks at first responders. We praise ball players and curse first responders. Every human is in a major dilemma with God. We have ignored God’s warnings, we have left the safety and constraints He has given us and now we have go

1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Everyone wants to set their own standards of what is good. Judges 17:6 says that Everyone did what was right in their own eyes. This leads to confusion and even more sin. There has to be a standard. There has to be an ultimate law of right and wrong. Well there is……

1My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. We have a lot of blessings in this world. We have a home, a car or two, a child or two or three, friends, family, work, hobbies, neighbors, and doctors to keep us going right? The poorest person in the world has been blessed of God with life and the possibility of eternal life! We have so much in this world but we don’t really appreciate what we have in Jesus. John the Apostle tries to tell us.

Jeremiah 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. God cannot remember our sins anymore. But God also will make sure that if you reject Jesus Christ no one will remember the Earth, the good they did, their wisdom, and their idols.

Revelation 12:17. In the book of Revelation Satan is wroth with the woman. Why is Israel described as a woman? They gave birth to the Savior Jesus Christ. Satan hates Israel for many reasons but none more important than for giving birth, making flesh the Son of God. What does this passage say about women today? I think it speaks volumes and we will look at what it says to us today on this mothers day.

Years ago the church was awakened and watching for signs of His return. Now there are signs everyday and it barely gets a yawn from the church. The church is asleep as it pertains to His return.
