One of the greatest struggles that we, as Christ-followers, face every day is the tension between seeking the approval of God and seeking the approval of other people. At our core, we are people pleasers. We want to be liked, even admired. We want to be seen as the hero. Often, we make decisions that are based solely on avoiding conflict and keeping someone happy. Sadly, sometimes those decisions may compromise our faith as well as our integrity. Sometimes, inside the spectrum of the church, we allow disgruntled members to sway us from the path God is leading us down and determine to just "keep the peace" rather than to be obedient.Support the show

Every single one of us have either dealt with a mess in our life in the past, are dealing with a mess now or are headed for a mess sometime soon. Thus, it is critical that we understand how to FOLLOW JESUS in the midst of a mess. Most people believe that the book of Revelations was written to explain end times. But, in reality, it was written as an encouragement to Christ-followers who were living through a very messy time. The book makes it very clear that Jesus can be counted on when times are bad...that the Messiah is bigger than the mess. We are also told that we will share in His ultimate victory and that He will return one day as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I have no clue what you are going through as you read this email, but I do know that God is faithful in the messy seasons of our lives and that He promises that better days are ahead. So be of good faith and be encouraged...a great victory is a part of your future.Support the show

  • Follow Me to Perfect Peace

    20/07/2014 Duración: 37min

In Philippians chapter 4, we are commanded not once, but twice to rejoice in the Lord always. The word always would suggest that it is possible to rejoice, celebrate and love in perfect peace constantly. Would you believe that it is possible to never worry again. I mean, NEVER? Could you really have that kind of contentment and assurance? Philippians 4 says that the believer can and should live like that, anxious for nothing, confident in prayer and following Jesus with a sure faith. I want to live like that!Support the show

  • Follow Me to 2nd Place

    13/07/2014 Duración: 32min

We spend a lot of time talking about how much we love God. We measure our faith and devotion by how deep our love for Him is. We highly regard others who seem to really love God. It is a measuring rod and a point of pride. But, actually what really amazes me is not that we love God. Instead, it's that He loves us. He chooses to love us. He relishes loving us. He loves us completely, unconditionally and with abandon. He loves us when we are obedient and when we are rebellious. He loved us first and promises to never stop. Check out Romans 8:3-39. And remember, YOU ARE LOVED! Support the show

Maybe you remember the story which chronicles the encounter between Jesus and a man we know as the Rich Young Ruler. The privileged young man came to Jesus and asked an eternally important question, "How do I make it into Heaven?" Before Jesus could answer, he presented his impressive pedigree which included a nearly perfect record in commandment keeping. He was, by his own reckoning, a nearly perfect candidate for Heaven. However, Jesus offered a different perspective. He congratulated the young man for his morality and clean slate. Then He said, "But, if you want to see Heaven, you need to go and sell all you have and give it to the poor. Then, you need to follow me." In reality, he was simply asking the young man to make the pursuit of faith his number one priority. The Bible says, "that he went away sad" because he felt the cost was too high. May I ask if there is anything in your life so valuable that it takes priority over Jesus? It's very easy to choose the
