This week we celebrate Mountain Sunday in the Season of Creation, where we reflect on the resurrection of Jesus and the new creation that Jesus begins in and through us, and what it means for us to live the life of that new creation. This week's sermon was delivered by our student minister Mitchell Anderson, and connects with Isaiah 65:17-25 and Mark 16:14-20. This week we continue our series "Creation: following Jesus, loving the Earth" with Sky Sunday. We reflect on how the sky declares the glory of God, and what it means to follow Jesus in an age of climate change. With hurricanes and typhoons growing stronger every year, there is something wrong with our relationship with the sky. Our sermon this week was delivered by our student minister Mitchell Anderson. A sermon preached by our student minister Mitchell Anderson at the Sunday morning worship of the United Church of Canada's general council executive-elect on the Lord of the Harvest. Connecting with three stories from the Gospels: the parable of the growing seed (Mark 4:26-29), the parable of the sower (Mark 4:3-8), and Jesus sending workers into the harvest feel (Matthew 9:35-38). If the "harvest is abundant, but the workers are few," what is the work Jesus, the Lord of the Harvest, is giving to us in our time?
