One of the reasons we are starting a new Bible study at church is because we want to so many of us are struggling with hidden sins that are ultimately destroying us.  It may be pride, lust, jealousy, anger, etc.  Often times, we downplay these internal sins because they aren’t seen.  Yet sin is sin and it ultimately will destroy us. Why do I keep on sinning? This study takes dead aim at the heart of ongoing sin. My prayer and hope through this study is to offer insight, encouragement, and hope for overcoming the enemy within.    As we go through this study we will look at what sin is, how it works, what it does, and how to defeat sin.

Psalm 1 is a fitting start for the entire book of Psalms. This psalm contrasts the godly believer with the ungodly person.  Listen (or watch) as Sean Templeton unpacks this psalm for us in this sermon.

Psalm 107 tells us about that God will join into covenant with anyone who “cries out” to Him. And will rescue His people no matter where they find themselves! This is what covenant loyalty is like. And whether life feels like a desert to you or a dungeon or a deathbed or a dead end, know that if you have entered into covenant with God through faith and repentance in Jesus, God will be loyal to you.

Psalm 27 is an answer to why we need the beauty of God, how we see it and what we do when we don’t see it (which is the battle we find ourselves in daily following Jesus and being lured away by the world). In doing so we will find an invitation to come to the gallery of God’s beauty and enjoy Him!

In this sermon, we had the privilege of hearing from Noel and Vanessa Bouché.  Noel serves as the Vision Advocate at Pure Hope Ministries in Plano, TX.  Vanessa is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Texas Christian University.  Together they have started an organization called Savhera.  Savhera's organic essential oils uplift your senses at home while supporting the ascent of exploited women abroad.

If you want a bad name, then admit to your doubts. Look at Thomas. We read in our text about how he admits to his doubts about the resurrection of Jesus. For almost two thousand years, we’ve been beating up on Thomas for saying very honestly, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side.”  But what does the Bible say about doubters and what are we supposed to do with the doubts that we have?

Some of us think of church primarily as what happens on Sundays.  In this sermon, we look at a  key event that reorients us to who the church is called to be and do, and it’s far more than what could take place in simply gathering on Sunday's.    In this sermon we look at who we are (our identity) and what we have been called to do (our mission).

In the previous sermon we saw that Jesus changed the lives of two prominent men in the culture of the time: Joseph and Nicodemus. This week we are going to see how this resurrection did a number on another person on the opposite end of the cultural spectrum: Mary Magdalene! Not only was she a woman, who was devalued in the culture, but also a former mental patient who was possessed by demons. This woman’s life was turned upside down by Jesus!

Jesus really did die, he really was buried and he really did rise from the grave.  And as a result what we see is that people’s lives were really changed from the inside out and yours can be changed today too. There is nothing in your life that can’t be radically transformed by the reality of Jesus! In this sermon, Pastor Sam will look at how  Jesus really died, was really buried, really rose again and really changed people!

Easter 2019:  The Good Thief A monologue from the perspective of the thief that died next to Jesus on the cross.

We have to be careful when we come to the cross of Jesus to not just view it and two seconds later push it aside as if it was a trite event. It must command our utter attention. It must captivate us not just this morning, but every single day. For everyday we lay it aside and treat it as a humdrum event, an unexceptional/ordinary incident not worth our meditation or time, we wander from what it is that makes us so different. We wander from the life-giving source that changes us from the inside out. We wander from what propels us to be salt and light to this world.
