Sinopsis
At Elevation, we believe its possible to live in a way where you cant wait to see what comes next, where youre part of something bigger than yourself, and where you catch glimpses of God in a world that you suddenly realize has deeper meaning. Our History: A little more than 11 years ago, a student church called The Embassy was founded with a desire to connect with our citys student population. Over the years, as students began to graduate and establish families, we continued to develop our student church, but also launched a second family church which was named Elevation. In the fall of 2008, as a result of longstanding friendships and many conversations about serving the broader community, another congregation by the name of New Hope merged with us. Since joining, our experience has been a very positive one and we are now experiencing what we had hoped for in taking this step that we would be better together.

Equality and Economics
21/10/2018The Bible speaks frequently to both equality and economics, but it sure can seem like they are two very different things – detached from our life of faith. This week we will explore how economic practices are a sacred witness of God’s will for our communities and churches and ultimately the world. If we would […]

Confronting the Isms
14/10/2018Racism, sexism, ageism…and the list goes on. There are so many ways we can pass judgment on others to maintain a measure of control. But in a world of increasing polarization, the gospel challenges our propensity to classify ‘the other’ and invites us instead to an acknowledgment of our shared humanity and our common need […]

Truth and Reconciliation
07/10/2018Jesus has challenged us with the ministry of reconciliation. Truth and reconciliation is a heavy subject, yet what we hope to do is to challenge ourselves to move beyond our “scope” of Western cultural Christianity and see how the gospel message of Jesus is represented in different cultures, namely our First Nations culture, and how […]

More Than Conquerors

Children of God
23/09/2018In many ways, our childhood is something we seek to leave behind as we pass through the waters of adolescence and enter into the fullness of adulthood. Slaves to Righteousness
16/09/2018It goes without saying that we don’t like to think of ourselves as being slaves to anyone or anything. (We prefer our freedom and autonomy, thank you very much!) But what if being enslaved to one thing was the key to being set free from something else that threatened to damage your very soul? Would […]

Reconciled to God
09/09/2018Paul delivers some pretty harsh news to the church in Rome: “There is no one who does good, not even one.” And yet that’s not the end of the story – far from it. The distance between God and ourselves has been bridged in Christ, and we are now invited to live by faith in […]
