Being known by God and learning his voice.

In this passage, we look at the wolf that comes to kill the life of the sheep. Jesus is called the good shepherd because he lays his life down for his sheep. The Good Shepherd becomes the great shepherd when he comes back to life. We learn the brilliance of how God gives up his good for our good and gives us true life.

In this passage, we will look at two things that Jesus says that he is. The first thing that Jesus says is that he is the gate to the Father's green pasture. The Gate or door is the first line of defense to the house and also the most welcoming. He is also the Good Shepherd that guides the sheep to abundant life. The Gate of God provides security, and the Good Shepherd guides us into a place freedom and life.

What does the voice of God sound like? What are things that get in our way from hearing God in our lives? In this sermon, we discover what strange sounds distract us, the Shepherd who knows our name, and the Sheep that will follow after the Good Shepherd.
