It's back to classic Booster Gold with "Fresh Start" by Dan Jurgens, Bob Lewis, Albert DeGuzman, and Barbara Randall from Booster Gold (vol 1) #16. Booster moves into his new mansion/headquarters and ticks off no less than three people. Then we cover "Quantum Mechanic" by Cary Bates, Greg Weisman, Will Conrad, Ivan Nunes, Saida Temofonte, Kristy Quinn, Jim Chadwick, and Steve Rude from the penultimate issue of The Fall and Rise of Captain Atom. Nate finally meets his son, confronts Ultramax, and we learn a little more about the bastard that is General Eiling.

Here's a head-scratcher. The Justice maxi-series by Jim Krueger, Alex Ross, Doug Braithwaite, Todd Klein, and Joey Cavalieri did not feature Booster Gold or Captain Atom. So why are we reviewing issue nine? Because this podcasting community is freaking awesome! The JLMay event organizers found a back-door way to include Jay and Roy.This crossover began with Fire & Water #193, then continued into Super Mates #70, The Idol-Head of Diabolu #30, Views from the Longbox #263, Pulp 2 Pixel, The LanternCast, and Shazamcast before landing here at Silver & Gold Podcast. We do our best with this comic before passing the torch on to Power of Fishnets, Waiting for Doom, and Justice's First Dawn. Fingers crossed that we'll be back for JLMay 2018!

It is Thursday. We have two Charlton comics in front of us. How about the twelfth episode of Charlton Comics Throwback? In this episode, Vance and Jay take a look at "Test-Pilot's Nightmare" by Joe Gill and Steve Ditko, which first appeared in Space Adventures #39 (April 1961). This is a fairly non-memorable adventure of Captain Atom. Next the boys turn their attention to Abbott & Costello #13 (February 1970). No Captain Atom story this month - instead we review Secret Romance #6. Published in 1970 by Charlton Comics, this romance book credited no creative team, though the cover artist was most likely Charles Nicholas.
