The Dice Tower

A jam packed episode!  Including:  Reviews of Alcatraz, Skagway, Hoplomachus, and Fantastiqa, Brian taking a look-back at Get Bit, talk about upcoming conventions, Barry talking about conquering your family, a tale of Horror, Geoff getting into rules lawyering, James discussing innovation, Tom rambling all over the place, a contest, and our question of the week - how long have we gone without playing games and how did we handle such a horror!?  Whew!

The second half of our show we recorded live at TotalCon 2013, Eric and I have another tale of Horror, and talk about some more recently played games.  We answer a few questions, but spend most of the show talking about the best games to play at conventions.

In the first of two episodes recorded live before an audience at TotalCon 2013, we talk with the hosts of Not Just Another Gaming Podcast, Cardboard Jungle, and the GameSalute Shows.  We talk about some great games, including Police Precinct and Wild Fun West, hear Chief talk about Kickstarter and Giles about Kickstopper, get scared by Eric, and listen to Brian talk about The Omega Virus.  We finish up the show with some questions from the audience!  

In this episode, Tom takes a look at Fantastiqa and Batman: Gotham City.  We answer quite a few questions, and then take a look back at 1998 - 15 years ago, and talk about the best games from that year!

In this show, Eric talks about Catan Histories: Merchants of Europe, while Tom goes over 15 games in 15 minutes. The Chief checks in on Kickstarter, Brian goes to the Amazing Labyrinth, Barry joins us for a bit, and the Pirate Podcast talks about the alpha gamer.  Geoff talks about detecting cheating in Chess, we go over the news, Tom does an extra top ten list, and we talk about how stores should display games.  Whew!

In this episode, we take a look at Space Cadets, RoboTroc, For the Crown, and the Sesame Street 35th Anniversary Game!  We also have another horrible tale, give credit to designers, mention the "Sideline Gamer", take a look back at Tobago, and mention surprises.  Finally, we go back ten years ago, to 2003, and talk about our favorite ten games from then.

In this show, Geoff talks about game security, and we hear why party games matter.  Mark explains that less is more, Matt talks about solo gaming, and Brian examines atypical randomization.  We give the latest news, listen to a truly horrible tale, and talk about Swordfish, Suburbia, Legendary, and Mutant Meeples.  We muse on the future of 2013 and gaming, and then talk about games that we are experts in.  Maybe.

Well, it's 2013, so as usual, we take a look back five years ago and talk about the best games - now that we have half a decade to muse on the subject.  We also talk about Lancaster, Man Bites Dog, and Power Grid: the First Sparks as well as other games.  Finally, we answer a plethora of questions, including Tom's thoughts on Duel of Ages 2, Space Alert, and more!

Hooray, another episode!  In this show, we talk about the Dice Tower Kickstarter - and also get into our favorite topic - great games!  We review City of Remnants, Mice and Mystics, German Railways, and Fluxx.  Brian takes us back to Hey, That's My Fish!, while James talks about being the villain.  The Pirates come on and spread some sort of nonsense, while Geoff talks about cheating some more.  We do a three-way smackdown between Marvel Legendary, DC Deckbuilder, and Sentinels of the Multiverse - and end the show talking about what to do when there is a heated rules dispute.

And part two of our best and worst of 2012 show!  In this episode, we talk about the best cooperative games, most innovative games, strangest games, best expansions, best reprints, biggest brain burners, favorite gaming events, and a host of other categories.  We end the show with our top ten games of 2012 - and what we are looking forward to in 2013.

Tom, Eric, and host of others all join forces (like Voltron!) to give you the best of 2012.  In this first half of the show, we give our thoughts on the 2012 as a whole, as well as the biggest news stories of the year.  We talk about our biggest surprise, and our biggest disappointment.  Everyone picks the game with the best components, the game with the best artwork, the worst game, the best card game, best party game, best kids game, and best family game.  Lots of fun, and a Happy New Years to everyone!

In this show, we talk about Zombicide, 2019: the Arctic, and Dungeon Command.  We also answer a pile of questions, including why we don't talk much about print and play games, Carcassonne expansions, a good baseball game, and superhero games.  We end the show talking about our top ten "lucky" games - games that have luck as a major mechanic.

In this show, we take a look at Kemet, Pixel Tactics, King of Tokyo Power Up! and Noir.  Geoff talks about cheating, Tom talks about how and when you should buy games for others for Christmas, and Brian examines Kremlin.  Bart looks at some Kickstarter games, Matt does a game you can play Solo, and James about expanding the hobby.  We end the episode with our best gaming finds we've ever found at a thrift store.
