INTERSECT is a radio interview program that showcases interviews with musicians who were once/or still are prominent Christian music artist, discussing how their encounter with Christ not only influenced the direction and intent of their music, but also the direction and intent of their individual lives. The shows will be interesting, entertaining and inspirational as we learn how these musicians started, their experiences along the way and where they are now as artist and people.Aaron The A-Train Smith is a Nashville-based drummer and percussionist.At the age of 20, Aaron Smith played drums on The Temptations Grammy-Winning megahit Papa Was a Rollin Stone, and recorded with Ray Charles as well. In the fall of 1974, Smith toured with Czechoslovakian bassist Miroslav Vitou in support of Miroslavs Warner Bros. release Magical Shepherd. After that he studied under jazz drummer Alan Dawson in Boston, from there moving to San Francisco where he was a co-founder of the power funk trio Peter Bilt. From there he went on to join, Romeo Void, The 77s and Rich Mullinss A Ragamuffin Band.Smith has recorded, performed and toured with dozens of other artists over the years, including Jimmy Abegg, Michael W. Smith, Margaret Becker, Vector, and many more. An autographed pair of Smiths drumsticks can be found in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, next to a pair of sticks used by Beatles drummer Ringo Starr.

He plays bass live for the Eskimo Brothers and frequently plays with country artist Derek Hoke. He is also a member of The Dixiecrats, alongside Shack Shaker J. D. Wilkes and members of Los Straitjackets. He has also been a member of This Train, The Dirt Daubers, as well as Flesh Vehicle with Tom Pappas, formerly of Superdrag and Rich Mullins & The Ragamuffin Band.

He and his family moved out west in 2015 to do ministry on the Navajo Reservation. As a teenager and new Christian, Joe's life was impacted by the music ministry of the late Rich Mullins— himself a missionary to the Navajo Nation. The story of Rich's work on the reservation planted a seed in Joe's heart that grew for nearly two decades, leading he and his family to answer God's call to serve in Navajo missions. Prior to this, Joe spent nearly a decade working at an Oldies radio station in his home state of New Jersey. He and his wife Abbie have been married for 12 years and they have a 10-year-old son named Joey.
