Wednesday President Trump spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland in which he demanded “immediate negotiations” with European counterparts on the fate of Greenland. Trump told leaders he would not use military force to acquire Greenland. He went on to say that while he has “tremendous respect” for the people of Greenland and Denmark, “every NATO ally has an obligation to be able to defend their own territory. And the fact is, no nation or group of nations is in a position to be able to secure Greenland, other than the United States.” Following his speech, Trump announced on his socials that he had reached the “framework” of a deal on Greenland with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and that he would not impose the tariffs against Europe. As of the end of 2025, the Massachusetts Parole Board had approved the release of 39 murder convicts, while denying parole to 12 inmates. This year so far in 2026, the Parole Board has released 5 more murder convicts, denying just 3. This comes in the wake of the state Supreme Judicial Court ruling in 2024 that ruled that emerging adults aged 18 to 20 at the time of the offense cannot be sentenced to life without parole.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

 Dr. Jeffrey Gold is one of approximately 156 clinicians in Massachusetts who operate a “direct care” practice. Dr. Gold does not accept insurance, and his patients pay a set monthly fee to cover check-ups, sick visits, telehealth, and in-office procedures. Transportation funding in Massachusetts continues to be a tough conversation among state leaders and lawmakers. The MBTA has a projected fiscal shortfall of nearly $900 million by fiscal year 2029 due to expenses rising faster than revenue. Governor Maura Healey proposed using proceeds from the state’s new millionaires' tax ($687 million) to fund the T, but by the time the FY2026 state budget was passed, the amount was down to $470 million. On Wednesday evening in Minneapolis a second ICE involved shooting occurred. The Department of Homeland Security said a federal law enforcement officer shot an individual who fled a traffic stop then along with two other people began attacking the officer. With protests and tensions continuing in the streets of Minneapolis in the wake of two shootings in the last week, President Trump has threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act, which would bring in armed forces to suppress the protests in Minneapolis.
