Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) - Session 85 The Son of The Mother of The Servant The Jurist of This Ummah The Master of The Secrets The School of Ibn Masood (ra). Alqamah ibn Qays 'Lets go to the one that resembles Ibn Masood (ra) in conduct and attitude' (ie Alqamah). 'The worse form of usury is to violate the personal honour of a Muslim' (Surah 33 v58). Ibn Ummi Abd (ra) on his students... I am convinced that such piety, deep understanding of Islam and knowledge of the Quran shall surface amongst you people that surpasses that of all other Muslims (Ahmad). Some of which include, Hasan Al Basree, Alqamah, Masrooq, Al Aswas ibn Yazeed (rah)...

Ibn Ummi Abd (ra) resumes his post as the Chief Judge of Koofa. Sitting in each other's company and visiting one another are clear signs of genuine love & affection. Apostates are given time to clarify upon their doubts and then to repent. Later on, Koofa becomes the hub of unrest and rebellion.

Avert flogging or executing the Muslims as much as you can (Ibn Abee Shaibah). Ibn Ummi Abd (ra) wept so much when Umar (ra) departed the world (Ibn Saad). Even the mountains wept upon the death of Umar (ra) (Haakim). Any household which did not feel his loss is indeed a bad houshold (Ibn Saad). The parents of Islam were Abu Bakr & Umar (raa).

Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) - Session 81 The Son of The Mother of The Servant The Jurist of This Ummah The Master of The Secrets Umar (ra) sacrifices his need for Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) and upon sending him to Kufa, plants the blessed seeds of the Hanafi fiqh. Kufa was called the head of the body referring to its importance in the propagation of the religion so sent Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) and Amir ibn Yaasir (ra) - the two Badrees. Umar (ra) is angry with the person who is filling scrolls with Quran from memory in Kufa but upon hearing that is Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) his anger is dissipated and praises him as the only sahabah worthy of this.

Surah Hajj Verse 72-74 Session 24 The Sunnah, The Purified Speech Hajj is Tawheed None binds like He binds (Surah Fajr). The Parable of The Fly You cannot create, you cannot retrieve from the fly, weak is the the seeker & sought. Allah SWT is Strong! Believe in the Mutashbihat verses regarding Allah SWT and delve into it not. Contemplate upon the creation as we cannot appreciate the greatness of Allah SWT. Recite S39 v67-75, weep thereafter and The Garden of Eternity is yours (Tabarani).

Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) - Session 80 The Son of The Mother of The Servant The Jurist of This Ummah The Master of The Secrets Whoever looks inside a house before permission is granted is a degenerate (Al Adan Al Mufrad). One hour with Umar (ra) is more valuable than a year of devotions (Al Istee'aab). One day with an upright Imaam is better than 60 years of worship (Tabarani). Mercy decends at the time of mentioning the pious (Ahmad). I never saw a more beneficial act for the heart than to mention the pious (Sifatus Safwah). 90% of knowledge left the world with the departing of Umar (ra) (Tabarani). Umar (ra) possed the most knowledge about Allah SWT, recited the Quran the most and had the deepest understanding of Islam (Tabarani).

Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) - Session 79 The Son of The Mother of The Servant The Jurist of This Ummah The Master of The Secrets Umar on Ibn Ummi Abd (ra), 'He is a small vessel filled with knowledge...' (Tabaqat). The Keeper of Secrets said, 'The fortunate ones amongst the Companions (ra) know that Ibn Ummi Abd (ra) is amongst the closest of means (Waseelah) to Allah SWT' (Ahmad). The Dead of the Night, an old man & Umar (ra) (Kanzal Ummal).

Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) - Session 78 The Son of The Mother of The Servant The Jurist of This Ummah The Master of The Secrets The sermon of Abdullah Ibn Masood, The Best Creed to be that of Ibrahim (as), the best way is the Sunnah, the best guidence is from the Prophet's, the most dignified discourse is zikr and the worst misguidance is to stray after being guided. The Prophet ﷺ is happy with that which Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) is happy with, hence the importance of the statement when he called the love for Abu Bakr & Umar (raa) and integral part of the Sunnah. Umar (ra) was undoubtedly like an impenetrable dam that protected the muslim nation from the violent waters of misguidence and the roaring waves of trials and tribulations. Ibn Ummi Abd (ra) is 40 as Abu Bakr (ra) guides the Ummah.

Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) - Session 77 The Son of The Mother of The Servant The Jurist of This Ummah The Master of The Secrets Every person is like the guest in a home, borrowing his wealth and rizq only for it to be returned at the point of death. How ironic is it that a person strives for what is already promised (sustenance) but belittles the Lord's SWT forgiveness thinking it to be accepted. Imam Ghazali compares us to the traveller only taking what is needed and in loss when reaching the destination (death) with excess in what he brought with him. "Remaining busy getting ready to die - what else is there to do."

(Tabarani). 'The people guilty of the most sins on The Last day shall be those who engaged in the most idle talk' (Tabarani). 'A Person can never have Taqwa until he controls his tongue' (Ibn Sad Tabaqaat).

Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) - Session 75 The Son of The Mother of The Servant The Jurist of This Ummah The Master of The Secrets Whilst in the markets, Ibn Masood (ra) is missing  money from his turban and states, 'O Allah SWT if what made him make it is his need then bless it for him...' (Ihya) 'It's better for you to face Allah SWT as a victim of injustice than to take revenge' (Ihya). I do not like the one who is idle, the one who neither occupied in worldly work nor in the pursuit of the Hereafter (Ahmad), view Surah 30 v7. Providing a rope in the Path of Allah SWT is more beloved to me than performing Hajj after Hajj (Tabarani). 'Your days are passing away your lifespan is nearing its end and your deeds are being recorded' (Ahmad). I don't want any of you behaving like a dead corpse at night and like a black ant during the day -colleting seeds (Abu Naiym Hillya).

Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) - Session 74 The Son of The Mother of The Servant The Jurist of This Ummah The Master of The Secrets Even if I knew I would not live for more than 10 days I would still like to have a wife via marriage (Ibn Abee Shaibah). And I ﷺ marry women, whoever turns away from my sunnah is not from me (Bukhari). Fornicating unmarried couples, Surah 7 v153 & Surah 42 v25. Ibn Ummi Abd (ra) a slave girl and the unfound owner (Tabarani).

Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) - Session 73 The Son of The Mother of The Servant The Jurist of This Ummah The Master of The Secrets 'Let the man who severs ties leaves us as we now intend to supplicate to our Lord... Indeed the gates of upper realms do not open for the one who severs the bond of relationship' (Tabarani). 'Angels do not descend upon a people amongst whom is a person who has cut off the bonds of relationship' (Tabarani). The trials of one's family & wealth. 'Verily your wealth and your children are only a Fitnah', Surah 64 v15.

Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) - Session 72 The Son of The Mother of The Servant The Jurist of This Ummah The Master of The Secrets The Value of Good Company 'Judge individuals by their friends for indeed a person only makes friends with whom he desires' (Al Ibaanah). 'Man is upon the way of his close companions, hence each of you should examine whom he takes as his close companion' (Abu Dawood). 'Allah SWT only grants faith to those whom He loves' ... (Ahmad). The non-arab chiefs, their muscular bodies and their glowing health.

Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) - Session 71 The Son of The Mother of The Servant The Jurist of This Ummah The Master of The Secrets 'Respond to Allah SWT & The Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life...' Surah 8 v24 Break Your Salah for Al Fateha Ubayy ibn Kaab (ra) shortens his prayer to respond to The Messenger ﷺ... He is taught a Surah the likes of which is not on the Torah, Injeel, Zaboor or even the rest of the Quran... 'The Seven oft repeated verses', Surah 15 v87 (Ahmad).

Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) - Session 70 The Son of The Mother of The Servant The Jurist of This Ummah The Master of The Secrets ‘O women give charity even though it may be from your own jewellery (Ahmad). A woman from the Ansaar & Zaynab (rah) give charity to their husbands and are given 2 rewards, 1 for kinship and 1 for charity (Bukhari).

Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) - Session 69 The Son of The Mother of The Servant The Jurist of This Ummah The Master of The Secrets Abu Musa’s Taqleed (follow) of Ibn Umm Abd (ra) Sunnah’s of Funeral prayers Ibn Ummi Abd (ra) refuses to lead the prayer within a dwelling, Abu Syed (rah) instead leads the prayer (Kansas Ummal). The majority of the Muslim world also perform Taqleed of the 4 honourable Imams of The Salaf (rah), how strange many label this as innovation.

Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) - Session 68 The Son of The Mother of The Servant The Jurist of This Ummah The Master of The Secrets Amulets (Taweez) are what are hung before the descending of affliction, what is hung after it is not an amulet (Haakim). Verily Ruqyahs (incantations) amulets and tiwalah (love charms) are Shirk (Abu Dawood). A section of our glorious predecessors prohibited the use of Quranic Taweez.
