Irish people are the joint-fourth highest consumers of cocaine globally relatively speaking, according to a new United Nations report. According to the report, 2.4 percent of Irish people used cocaine during the previous year, tying with the US and Austria. In reaction to this report, Newstalk Breakfast spoke to Professor Colin O’Gara, consultant addiction psychiatrist At St John Of Gods Hospital & Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UCD.

The European Central Bank said it remains ready to support eurozone banks with loans if needed after the Swiss government brokered a rescue of Credit Suisse that will see it taken over by rival UBS.
