Dr Emma Katz, Senior Lecturer at Liverpool Hope University, explores the impact of domestic abuse on children and young people. Her work looks at the relationship between the child and non-abusive parent in situations of coercive control, and the agency response or resistance to this. She also looks at how mothers and children support each other, both during abuse and within recovery.
