We're just taping a regular ol' episode in our studio today, and with us for the hour are two wonderful improvisors from UCB: John Timothy and Alan Starzinski! Alan's a longtime performer at the theatre, performing on numerous house teams, and in two solo shows that ran there. This is a crazy fun time we had this week with comedians Julie Sharbutt and Tim Racine! Julie is an actor and improvisor who performs regularly in the UCB show Gravid Water, and has appeared in numerous films and TV shows (including one of Andy's favorites, The Good Wife!), and Moved, her debut film which she wrote and directed is now available! Tim is a contributor to Funny or Die and Someecards, teaches sketch writing at the PIT, and his sketch duo Teenager of the Year has performed everywhere from Just for Laughs Chicago to SF SKetchfest! The triumphant return of Rolling Stone critic Peter Travers! That's right, Mr. Travers may have been depressed and suicidal last time he was on the show, but thanks to a certain movie he's looking forward to, things are looking up for him. And what a show he has to judge! One of our most fun eps to date, we head out west to record live from a Donald Trump rally, and it's not even 1/4 as horrific as you might think it is. But luckily we're joined by two wonderful dudes Chris Roberti and Evan Kaufman. Chris is an actor and improviser; a member of one of the premier teams at The PIT, Big Black Car; a member of the sketch group Bankrukt; and can be seen on such shows as High Maintenance and Broad City! Holy heck! This one's a blast of funny chaotic lunacy, and every moment's a delight! We taped this at the end of January, just two days after Winter Storm Jonas kicked New York in the nuts, and were joined by some of our most delightful pals including the UCB Theatre's own Brandon Scott Jones, Matteo Lane and David Ebert of MTV's Guy Code and Joking Off, and SNL writer Sudi Green. Yes, friends, we return for another week of Snap Impression, fresh off our Golden Globe win. And while our newfound célébrité may be going to our heads, we've got two great guests to ground us: Jana Schmieding and Lauren Olson! For three years, the duo hosted Jana & Lauren Presents at the Magnet Theater (a show which will be moving out west to LA with them). In addition to that, they're both members of the sketch group 20/400. Individually, Lauren is a house sketch performer at writer at the Magnet and UCB, and Jana is a house performer on sketch and improv teams at the Magnet. And holy crap are they funny! We may be on a crash course to crashing a plane in this episode, but we couldn't be hurtling towards our death with two nicer and funnier people. No, I'm not talking about the dead pilot and dead co-pilot, I'm talking about our guests Vincent Moore and Matt Dennie! Vince and Matt are both house improvisors at UCB. In addition, Vincent's one man show Planet World: A One-Manimal Show is currently running at the theatre. As well, Matt created the IFC webseries How Shit Works and hosts the show Cool Shit/Weird Shit at UCB East. As far as we know, Vince does not have a show with "shit" in the title. We hate to get "political" on Snap Impression, but let's just say the militia suckbutts that are being treated with kid gloves over in Oregon are a bunch of turnipheads. That's right, turnipheads! And just so we'd have an informed opinion on them, we're taping today's episode right outside where this siege is happening. ANd we've got two wonderful guests that made the trek with us: Tony Zaret and Bill Stiteler. Tony and Bill both run the show School Drools at UCB East and they are big social media mavens and Vine stars (millennials will know what that means).
