Read the Bible daily. Go to Mass every week. Quit making excuses and be a man! I often share my testimony of my return to the Catholic faith. This week Keith Nester joins me and we have a great discussion about both of our conversions. Keith was raised a United Methodist pastors kid and became a pastor himself. As he became more engaged in his faith he encountered a number of Catholics who showed him the true beauty of the Catholic faith. Keith became inundated with books, videos, and other material that simply blew his mind. Catholicism got him and he eventually converted to the Catholic faith. Once he abandoned himself he was locked into that wave, ready for the ride of his life. I love this guy and can’t wait for you to hear how he has totally sold out his heart for Jesus!

Do you realize every one of us is meant to have a personal relationship with Jesus? I get it….life gets  a little uncomfortable, it doesn’t seem to fit, we take ourselves too seriously and we end up missing out on the simplicity of what it means to give our lives to Jesus and experience the infusion of his love and his truth. My Cajun friend, Karlo Broussard, joins me this week to discuss how to be in the world…..but not of the world. We need to learn how to properly order our goods in our lives. Let me tell you, pleasure and material goods will not last forever. Remember memento mori. We are going to die. We must ensure we possess the ultimate good. One that never will pass…a relationship with God.

I have great admiration for those with the entrepreneurial spirit who use their skills to evangelize. Robert Tunmire is one of those people and his journey is incredible. In today’s upside down world men are seeking freedom. Freedom from addictions like ography, gadgets, and sports. Wouldn’t it be great if there were  aprogam to help men break these shackles? Boy do I have a story to share with you this episode! The Church is big and as it has grown it has encountered various cultures and practices. When it does this it does not come into a culture and destroy it, it seeks out the beauty of those cultures and integrates their practices with the Catholic faith. One example is the Native American practice of sweats. Jerome Richter VP of Public Affairs at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND tells us his experience in a sweat and how it united him in a lifelong brotherhood to a friend who became a priest. It was intense. 270 degrees of intense! Spiritually, it was an hour and a half of pure focus….pray or die!

I think in life sometimes we get hit right between the eyes with a reality check. When that happens we realize we need to make some changes. That’s what life is all about…growth and change.
