In Part 4 of the Right on the Money series we will look at a Biblical word which might as well be a four-letter-word: prosperity. Arguably, "prosperity" is one of the most abused words in the entire Bible. However, the solution for abuse is not "disuse". In this message we will look at a Biblically balanced doctrine of prosperity. You heard me, "balanced". It's Biblical. It's right. We just need to understand the Scripture better to embrace this misused truth; not to justify decadent selfishness, but to increase the Kingdom God's way.

In Part 3 of the Right on the Money series we will reflect on one of the most powerful stories of sacrifice in the Old Testament. David, a precursor of Jesus, selflessly made an offering to God after he had made a major mistake that cost his nation dearly. In the purity of the moment, David embraces the humility of the situation and offers a statement that rings loudly today, thousands of years later. Because David's wealth and affluence is very close to today's Canadian lifestyle it's a sobering challenge for us, especially as Calgarians.

In part two of "Right on the Money" we will come to appreciate the biblical concept and lifestyle of generosity. We all want to be generous, so, what's the hold up? As a lifestyle of generosity is embraced and developed, the "open heaven" of God's blessing will only expand and increase in our lives as we continue to walk in faith with our finances.

In this series we will come to understand just how frequently the Bible talks about money. It's a subject that a lot of churches want to avoid, but the Bible doesn't avoid it even remotely! God is very interested in how we manage our finances and speaks to that issue repeatedly. It's not a big moneygrab for the sake of perpetuating religion; actually, it all comes down to what is at the core of Christianity, a microcosm of faith. It's a simple issue of trust.
