There is a physiological aspect to all addiction. We get addicted to things that at first are very pleasurable. The hormone released in the brain that causes us to feel pleasure can be quite intense, but diminishes in intensity over time. Today we are beginning a new series based on a series of teachings by Steve Gallagher called 20 Truths that Helped Me In My Battle With Porn Addiction. One of these insightful, biblical teachings will be featured as a segment in each new episode. This first segment is about the lies and deception that are all a part of sexual sin.

In today's episode we interview April Cassidy, a Christian and author of The Peaceful Wife. She describes for us her journey from being a very disappointed and unhappy wife to being someone who is joyful, peaceful and fulfilled. She discovered that the source of her discontent was her own disobedience to God, and that when she began to repent and put into practice the teaching of Scripture concerning her own life in Christ, that made all the difference in her marriage as well.

As we conclude our current series, we ask the question, "What Role Does Grace Play in Freedom from Porn? In part 3 of our current series, we look at the role repentance plays in gaining freedom from porn. Here we examine the biblical teaching on repentance, and discuss how deep real repentance must go in order for a person to gain real victory. We see that repentance is not a one-time event, but an ongoing life-long process.

In part 2 of our current series, we answer the question, "What Role Does Brokenness Play in Freedom from Porn?" We look at brokenness from a biblical perspective, understand how God uses it, and hear testimony of how brokenness is on the path that leads to freedom and life.

Beginning this week and for several more to come, we will examine the key elements that lead to victorious Christian living and freedom from sexual sin. We will be asking questions like “what role does repentance play in freedom from pornography?” What part does deliverance play? What about worship? Where does obedience fit in? Today we ask the question, “What Role Does Faith Play in Freedom from Porn?”

We see it all too often. And we see it from both sides. There is the man who is struggling with sexual sin, with his addiction to pornography, but he thinks, “My problem will all go away when I get married.” Then there is the young woman who knows of her fiancé’s struggles, but she marries him anyway, thinking the same thing: “Marriage will fix him.” Today we answer the question “Should I Marry a Man Struggling with Porn?”

When a Christian woman discovers that her husband is addicted to pornography, and has been lying to her for years, the word devastated doesn’t come close to describing how she feels. We want to suggest that there is good cause for her to get on her knees and begin to fight for her husband’s soul. Today we’re asking the question, “Why Should a Wife Fight for Her Marriage?”

Nearly every Christian can name half a dozen ministry leaders of evangelical churches who have fallen due to sexual sin. How does this happen to men of God who are leaders in the church? In this final installment in our series The Church Addicted, we'll look at the role of the leader, and ask what happens when a leader is compromised by sexual sin.
