My Light Still Shines

Hey Y'all! Today we chat about Proverbs 16 (verses 1-11). I go back and forth between the NLT and MSG Version. When you listen you will understand why. I think these verses speak to so much about how God wants to direct us and the purpose behind his direction. 

Hey Y'all! In this episode we come out of Romans and head over to Psalms. Psalms 139 gives us some great insight on how much God loves us. First though have you ever made a deal with God. Like God if you get me off this ride I will never ride another roller coaster again? What about this one, God if you get me out of this situation (financially, emotionally, etc) I will never do this again. No , none of y'all have prayed those prayers. Just me.....  Ok well you should listen anyway there might be other things in the episode you can relate to. Ha ha ha ha 

Hey Y'all! Today I basically read and discuss the entire chapter of Romans 14. HA HA HA It doesn't go too long, but its so good. Well I hope you all think it is good. This chapter is about developing good relationships and how to do it. 

Hey Y'all! In this episode first of all I (HOPE) the sound is better for everyone! The last 2 episode were bad, just bad. I am so sorry for that! If we have coffee one day I can tell you all about my podcast issues. And there I will be honest that its all my fault and partially my disobedience.  Ok back to the episode. Today I wanted to chat about Hope & Prayer. I read Romans 12:12 - James 5:13 - Matthew 7:7 - Romans 5:3-5 - and lastly Romans8:25-26.  These verses give us hope and instruction. I of course speak from my own experience and just want us to think about all the things God is trying to do in our lives. Where should we be putting our hope? In God How should we be praying? How should we wait? All good questions for us to ponder. Again thank y'all so much for listening! Let me know your thoughts. 

Hey Y'all! Well we are still reading in Romans. You know why right, because I am currently reading and studying Romans and I just pick out verses that God says go deeper. Just things that make me think more about different things in life.  What book of the bible are you currently studying? If nothing right now whats your favorite book to study. Lets talk Belief & Salvation 

Hey Y'all! Lets chat about discernment. Well really lets reflect on where we are with discernment. Just a few question 1) How does God want us to fight battles? 2) Are you currently in a place where you can discern what God wants you to do when you come to the cross road? I read the whole 24th chapter and truly thought am I like David? Do I listen to my friends or revert back to what God wants me to do? Listen to this episode and tell me what you think.

God freely gives out wisdom if we ask Him. We also go back to my favorite book James where wisdom is discussed as well.

In reading Mark 10:52 Bartimaeus was a blind begger who wanted to be healed. I would love if you all would pop over to listen and tell me what you think about the 2 big things I spoke about in this passage of scripture.  1) What is your response to distractions or the enemy telling you to be quiet (or your not worthy)  2) Do you have FULL confidence in God and His promises?   Cant wait to hear your thoughts. 

Hey Y'all! In this episode Christy & I chat about shining your light. WHAT??? I know and I didn't even choose that verse Christy did. My podcast is entitled my light still shines because of this verse. We discuss how things happen in life YET God still has a plan. That plan includes Gods light shining inside of you for others to see.  This episode is dear to me because I believe that God wants you to be faithful in the small (not perfect) and understand that growth happens in that small season. Sometimes you just need to re-evaluate your relationship with Christ.  Are His roots growing DEEP down in your heart or are we just going through our "Quiet Time" motions. I want Christ to be at home in my heart, guiding me, comforting me. Don't you?

This is an Anchor passage, we believe it will give us HOPE.  The question from this episode that made me really think was "What are we feasting on in our minds?" Hey Yall! In this episode Kelly and I discuss a women of the bible that I had never heard of prior to Kelly. You will hear at the beginning of this that these scriptures challenged my english (ha ha ha ha) I could have cut it out but I wanted y'all to know I don't know everything and this walk of obedience from Christ about doing this podcast about the bible is challenging for me.  These few verses that Kelly and I discuss gives us so much encouragement about our gifts from God. God loves us and He wants us to "ASK" Him for what we need.  The statement that I love from Kelly and this episode "God please equip me to be fruitful in the place where you placed me right now." Hey Yall! In this episode I chat with @unsupermommy (Maggie Combs). We start off discussing why she is an unsupermommy & how God revealed that name to her through these verses.  Maggie told us that Blue Letter Bible defined weakness as strengthless; the inability of man to accomplish his salvation. It also gave us a list of things we cannot do on our own (understand, restrain our desires & bear the trials). When you look at that list and think back to things you have gone through or things you are trying to understand. You know you can't or haven't been able to do it without Him.  Listen to this episode and tell me what you all think. 

Hey Y'all! In this episode Amy & I discuss Psalm 1: 2-3. These verses give you so much hope that God is in control. These verses do 2 things 1) Cast a vision for your life with Christ 2) Lays out the path the Lord gives.  When I studied these verses in preparation for this episode the keyword that rang out to me was meditating. In my world I need to not just "read" Gods word but meditate on it OFTEN. But when Amy & I discuss these verses she focused on "delight". After reading the definition of delight to really resonate with it, these verses leaped off the page.  We also discuss John 15 & James 1: 2-3 to give more context to the verses. We tell you all how and when we began to "delight" in God's word. This is to let you all know there is no need to compete or feel your not getting it when you see people post scripture or talk about it. Everyone is different and the timeframe to delight in the word varies but know this...... You will begin to delight in it, when you spend time with God.

Hey Y'all! In this episode Melissa & I discuss Lydia. Who is only mentioned in Acts chapter 16. As an entrepreneur herself Melissa gives us the story of Lydia as a successful entrepreneur who uses her gifts to bless the kingdom.  I loved how Melissa told us that we don't always have to lay something down to serve God, sometimes we can pick something up.  What gifts do you have that the kingdom needs? Are you as passionate about using your gifts as Lydia? I hope you listen to this episode and feel something inside you (the Holy Spirit) leading you to how to use what you already have. 

Hey Y'all! In this episode Jessica and I discuss Isaiah 25. Isaiah is a "rich" book of the bible. Some places are hard and some are just simply beautiful!  This conversation is so good and we discuss the entire chapter. Jessica does a great job dissecting each verse. Helping us to see Gods goodness even in the hard verses.  Then at the end we ask ourselves "Do we want to know God more through our sufferings or do we want to just fast forward to the rainbow?" As tough as it is we want to know Him more, and we need our people to lead us there when we try to just get to the rainbow. 

Hey Y'all! Tiffany is back! She was one of my first guest when I first started the podcast. We truly had only been friends for like 5 minutes and I asked her to come on my show. ha ha She was so gracious.  In this episode we discuss Ruth. I think Ruth is a dynamic women and we can all learn a lot from the way she carries herself and how her character led her to Boaz. Seeing the "favor" God displayed on Ruth will just push you to press on if you are single. Hey Yall! In this episode Alisa and I chat about "Freedom" in the Spirit of the Lord. Did you know that the greek definition of the word freedom is To do as one should not as one pleases.  A question Alisa ask us to ask God is "What are the "SHOULDS" you have for me?"  Then she blew my mind with the fact that we cant catch the wind it has to catch us. She is saying that the wind is the Holy Spirit. YALL SUCH GOODNESS, you gotta listen to her explain it.  Lastly I ask you to join me in meditating on the question that I got from verse 16 "What veil can we ask God to remove?"  This episode knocked me over, and I hope y'all enjoy it as much as I did.  Thanks so much for listening.
